He looked down and out with the taser, why the need to shoot more at a guy down on teh ground..?

That is just a scarring scene to think of. What would possess that dumbass to pull out a replica firearm? He got what he deserved, for sure. I would've done the same thing in that cop's shoes.
I wouldn't want your job and appreciate all that you guys do. It takes bigger balls than most to even WANT to be a cop, especially in this CROOKED society.

Well first of all one was shooting. The other was tazing at first.
A tazer lasts for 5 seconds... unfortunately when the subject pulled a gun... he made the decision to be met with equal or greater force... when he ran away and turned on the cops pointing the firearm... he made the final decision to be met with lethal force...
The tazer is a temporary level of force meant to be used in place of going hands on in the use of force continuum. The moment he showed the gun... the tazer should have been dropped and transitioned into the side arm.
This shooting was by the book... and quite honestly when he pulls the gun out and is face to face with the female cop... he would have had the drop on her if it was real and she would most likely be dead. Her life was saved when the male officer actually went hands on and grabbed him from behind...
No... there is no... SHOOT HIM IN THE LEG.... or SHOOT THE GUN OUT OF HIS HAND. When Officers are met with the thread of death or serious bodily injury, lethal force is justified.

I did not see the first shot then.
Looked to me like he was tazed, went down, and then got a chest full of "have a nice day". But, I watched without sound and quickly.
Otherwise, screams either suicide by cop or a severely stupid idiot.
I wasn't trying to say they needed to shoot to wound, just need clarification on how the vid went down. So ya, looks like clean shooting to me.

It def was suicide by cop....
And the second part i wrote was not aimed toward u... just for future comments from others. Many people say that after every shooting.
The fact he was tazed at all was simply because the officer had the tazer in hand from the situation inside the building. One officer open hand... and one with less than lethal. That way they are prepared for an increase in force if needed. When he pulled the firearm... the open hand officer went from open to lethal... the officer with the tazer should have transitioned to lethal as well, however when it happens that fast... what was already available was the tazer... so it was used.
ur right tho... "good" shoot for sure.

"Officers were alerted to the incident after a Wal-Mart employee saw Bushey try to take a case of beer from the store. Bushey then ran to the restaurant while employees followed him and called police. Officers learned later the gun Bushey pointed at them was an air gun made to look like a Colt 1911 .45 caliber handgun."
what a pathetic reason to get yourself killed over.

Could have been trying to get the police called on him, trying to steal a case of beer is lame but guaranteed to get police out.
One could even argue its the least anguish inflicted on any bystanders in this mess too.

Either way... its a shame cause cops are still human, and taking a life after that traumatic moment will live with them forever.

I have no experience with body cams and what activates them. I have plenty of experience with the car cams... but we are a lil slow on the technology. Lol

Only 2 things I could think of a motive are either that guy is really really stupid to pull a pellet gun on a cop or suicide by police. I'm thinking the 2nd one.
I think it would be nice to see all cops have body cams imo to clear themselves or others of any wrong doing ? Any opinions ?

The issue with body cams is they don't have peripheral vision like a person. You have a tunnel vision view the entire time. The media and society in general now want video of everything and it's almost like if there's no video then someone's lying. Body cams are great in situations like this one but what happens when the cause for the action the officer took is out of sight of the camera, all the video shows is a man running away and getting "gunned down". One bad camera angle combined with a media spin and the officers are publicly convicted before any investigation can be completed even if the results reveal there's no wrong doing on the officers part, we've seen this unfold! There is no perfect solution, it's unfortunate we live in a time where the police officers statement of accounts come second to what is or isn't on video. It's sad that some bad cops and the media wanting a story have left such a bad impression on society.

Question for ya popo8.. why didn't they pat this guy down prior to walking him out, and or handcuff him?

i also think all cops should wear cams, even a small glimpse into what took place is better than relying on people's accounts of what happened. people lie a lot, both the police and the person they are dealing with are going to spin things their way most the time. video and audio of the situation can put a lot of it to rest.

I do not know. my guess is they figured they would get him outside prior to doing things to avoid an altercation inside the bathroom or restaurant.

That just happened somewhere else with a 17 year old kid who knocked the cops cam off or something then was on top of the cop beating the hell out of him till the cop unloaded on him

that was near me, he never knocked the cam off the cop i don't think, and that video was VERY helpful for the police. In fact the cop's body cam showed the kid charging him right before it went black, and kept recording audio. you could hear them struggle and then the cop shot him seven times. before the video came out people were angry that he shot a 17 year old kid so many times, after the video came out showing the kid arguing the whole time, saying he didn't have ID, then saying he had ID but wasn't required to show it, refusing to get out, refusing to lay down, refusing to put his arms out, and then attacking the officer when he used the taser on the kid, it was kinda hard for people to argue the cops moves were unwarranted.
the video is out there, both from the cops body cam and from the kids cell phone. they've synced them together so you can see both angles together.
