When boost hits, shit got real! Thought you were a little over 16lbs?

Depending on how hard he smacked it, the initial spike was 18, and fell to 15 area

Nice power curve. Going to keep from spinning it above 6k?
shownomercy

No sense in spinning it higher, out of cam, out of head and out of turbo

I'd rather keep it below 6k myself anyway

I'm happy to have such a low rpm motor, winding things out sucks for a street car

Since SNM is currently on cloud 9, below is the dyno vid I tossed together.

Very nice! Sounds awesome. Gonna be a fun, fast, tire shredding street car.

You on a t6 or T4 flange?

T4,don't worry, your hair dryer should have me covered ;)

I'm still running the procharger this year. I was going to say if you were T6 you could use mine since it's just been sitting here collecting dust.

Would be interesting to say the least, but, tune/motor are at a happy place on the timing strip of a TR6 plug so I think any more power would bump me into TR7 area and I really don't wanna deal with that sort of plug on the street.
18* of timing at WOT, IAT were great, and tons of fuel available. AFR is a tad fat so we could prob have crested over 700whp but, eh, safe tune for any temps outside is paramount.

When are you running the car at the track next? Should be well into the 9s now

Not for awhile, life is gonna be busy this coming week and I need to rip out the relay board to send back. Prob should fix some other stuff to before the track.
Went from a fat AFR and 10.5 ET last season to a decent lean AFR this season and ~5 more PSI. Mwaha

Have you seen the "sloppy trans brake" mod? Sounds hideous but basically tells the shift solenoids to be in 3rd gear so you can build boost on the footbrake, then when you release the button it releases the 3rd gear command and off you go. I'm going to give it a shot on my junkyard 80

I have a Jake's T brake in my 80e, I just am scared of snapping stock shafts and don't feel like losing the season waiting for a rebuild.
Live and learn, its no race car so its more than enough as is.

Did you get one before he stopped selling them without his transmissions or did he change his policy? When I was looking into them a while back he wouldn't sell them outright

My friend had that mod in his 4L80. We raced the True Street event at Norwalk last year. He made it one run and the brand new tranny let go. Not saying it was the culprit, but the tranny shop builds a lot of solid stuff.

I've heard it both ways. There's a thread on ls1tech of a guy that made numerous passes on the mod, and I've read others like your experience where it's roasted the trans. I'm sure there are many variables, converter, trans temp, how high you're building and how long. My trans doesn't owe me anything so I'd figured I'd let her eat, or roast.

I love that this setup doesn't rev high but still makes great power. Well done and nice combo! A true street setup for sure.

Thanks! The small turbo and small cam do limit me from playing the HP battles of larger stuff but, its a blast to drive round the street.

Negative, really not needed when your AFR is pig rich at WOT.
We left it so rich to protect the trans
