Ever wonder what happened to certain members who just disappear of fade out? I figured that Id start a thread to find them and see whats new. Now that we have the "tag" option by putting the "@" symbol before a name, i figure maybe there is a better chance to get their attention with email notifications. Just a thought.

I figured "LIFE" happens. I was guessing that you got sucked into the LS world with your truck, and you forgot about the ol LTX and community.
Do you still drive or race the caprice?

Car is not pink anymore, currently under the knife, might be done in 3 months. I am working on it as much and often as I can. I also removed facebook and stuff like that so I'm not online as much anymore.
I did buy another LT1 car though.

Don't know yet, probably going to pull the engine and put a turbo engine in there. Going to try to keep it stock appearing and might even throw V-6 badges on it or something.

Yeah I still drive the car when it runs. I might be changing it to 24x. Hate to see the opti go but I just want to drive my car. I'm not too deep into the ls world. Been trying to get things straight to buy a house.

People I ever wonder what happened to are listed below, it sucks Chris Sikora isn't around any more because he would have known half if not all the people on my list. Him a lot of the guys below are people I looked up to back in the day, same way people look up to Athletes or Popo looks up to Ice T and Coco now.
CZ28.com:
Unstable Bob - Bob Gage? From CZ28.com, heard he had a C6 Z06 a few years
INTMD8 - Jim Moran, haven't really seen him post in a while, I am sure Larry and all them keep up with him.
Rob Cowling - YSI 93 Z28 from CA, he was building another car not sure if they ever finished it
MindGame - 18* headed LT1 way back when
Darren Harden - Harden Motor Sports, they had an SB2.2 headed LT1 set up they brought to Thunder Shoot Out in 2003.
N2O Dave - East coast guy, had an SB2.2 headed LT1 also, car was running, made awesome power.
JimLab - Built a nasty high dollar LT1 with AFRs, shaft mounts, etc to go in an FD RX7. Pretty sharp fellow.
Rick Krause - Had a blower nitrius LT1 Z28, was really sharp.
Every one at Bilingsley Motor sports, they sold their black 93 Z28 to madman, but they also had a really fast third gen with an LT1.
Joe Overton - I thought he was getting the car back up again?
Steve Quinn - No Rush Racing, 370" LT1, ran 9.7s NA with GM LT1 heads and intake. He was working for Kinsler last I heard.
The guys over at MORE performance, they turned out a ton of nice LT1s back in the day.
Morgan Motor Sports - He built some killer blower LT1 cars, a local guy named SNAXS? bought a white LT1 Z28 from him that was pretty stout.
Derick? Martin - White LT1 355 Z28.

UBG is local to me, saw him last month at a meet. He now DD a V10 dodge pickup and has gotten out of fbods/LT1s last I heard. He was the last that I know of to have had a set of 4v LT1 heads, which are now owned by Bret I "think".

Billingsley is about an hr from me. Last I knew he's out of the LT/Fbody game. He now runs the family BP service station, tow truck, etc. He also did some engine work for his brother-in law, I think? He raced a 4cyl dragster. The engine looked like a BBC, cut in half, if that makes sense.

I another guy I remember who was Marcin, XXsaint? was from Georgia, had a 227 headed D1 LT1 Z28, the short block was built by Pro Line Race engines. Made good power, he parted the car out.
Shownomercy,
Brett had a set of those heads, or his dad did, they were supposed to be building an LT1 for a Gremlin or some thing. Only person I knew that ever got a running car with those heads was Hans Fuesel at Reher Morrison, Procharged Comp TA. Didn't really make any thing a 23* like a 227 would have made with the same set up.
FlyinZ,
Last I saw them they came out to Thunder Shoot Out in '03, he sold that black Camaro to Madman. They also had a LT1 third gen that was an NA set up that was really quick.

Yep, I've seen that Blue 3rd gen at his old shop, when I dropped my car off...back in 04'. VERY sharp car, the driver of it was Brian Jefferies, I think. And I thought he did some HVAC work, out of Bloomington,IL. I actually saw Jay last year, at an NHRA event at STL. He was wearing a Safety Kleen shirt at that time, just standin' there. I THOUGHT I saw a tent/trailer with BILLINGSLEY RACING, on the side of it. It looked like his dad and a Pro mod car in the trailer.

My carb swap was fairly simple. Bought the GM lt1 carb swap intake manifold which was like $280 at the time, a used hei distributor for like $30, stock plug wires for a 1977 Camaro from autozone for around $38?, found a Holley 670 carb at the local flea market for $100, bought the cheap 6&1/2 inch Mr. Gasket air filter from autozone for $20?, cut the cowl under the wiper arms roughly a foot long to make clearance for the air cleaner and distributor (I have enough room to take the distributor out from the top). Of course add little cheap things like distributor hold down, new intake gaskets, distributor gasket, etc. It adds up a fee extra dollars, but for the most part I kept my budget pretty cheap. As for fuel, I took the factory pump out and made my own pickup line out of a piece of metal fuel line from autozone, then hooked it to the factory pump inlet and ran that to an electric fuel pump I got off of a truck at the local pik-a-part that I riveted under the back seats of my 93 firebird and then ran lines all the way to the front, attached a cheap autozone inline fuel filter, more line, then a fuel pressure regulator, more line, and then clamped it to the line that came with the carburetor. I hooked the wiring for the fuel pump into the fuse box on the side of the dash for easy access. It constantly runs when the key is on. As far as the harness goes, I used everything factory and what I didn't use I just tucked away. All of the guages worked except the tach. Couldn't figure it out so I ran an autometer tach. My car is a 93 so it came with a 700r4 and i put a manual valve body in it so I didn't have to worry about the computer. I hooked the kickdown cable up with the cheap brackets they have for throttle cables at autozone. Other than that list of things, its easym after getting all of the parts gathered up, I fit it done over a weekend in my backyard. Everything ran great but I never could get the timing just right.
As far as any gains from going to carbureted, I felt like the car had a ton more torque (I would guess about 30 to the wheels) which doesn't sound like much, but it made a world or difference at the track. I gained a half of a second by going carbureted. I'm sure someone could gain more if they used new parts and not junk parts like I did. #budgetbuild #workingminimumwageandgoingtoschool

I know we have several members swapping to carb set ups. A few already have, and they have build threads on here, however I know our members would probably love to see your take on the swap, if you would do a build thread that would be awesome. Plus, we love PICTURES!
