I'm collecting parts to put a full set of LS1 brakes on. Any recommendations on pads?
It will see mostly street, drag racing, maybe some autoX, and a track day if I win the lottery :( . It is not a daily driver, but don't want something that'll wear out REALLY quick either.
Not looking for a track only pad... but something more than cheapies.

Any suggestions?

EBC. Greenstuff for street/strip use....if you're going to auto-x I'd recommend the yellow stuff. Red stuff if you want a low dust ceramic.

Alright, the green was what prompted the question. Everyone says Hawk (most don't say WHICH Hawks), but in a little parts search I came across the green at an online store... and it sounded familiar.

I'd also like to add.... Where is the best place to get the pads? Timing doesn't really matter, as I'm still waiting on 2 separate shipments (and free time) before I can install.

Check on line. You can usually find the best deals there. There's a TON of places that carry EBC pads. If anything, go to EBC's website and click on their vendor links.

I looked, I have the hawk performance HPS pads... one thing though is they give off alot of dust... if I wash my rims.. within a week they have a reddish brown dust all over them again

all the ones we are talking about are here...

obviously these LS1 pads are a little more expensive than the ones for the LT I bought

I have the green EBC's on the rear of my car and wow, silver wheels show all the brake dust in the world. Try to avoid the greens if you dont want to wash the truck every time you drive it :)

Get Hawk HPS pads. I had EBC redstuff pads before and they weren't nearly as good as the Hawks.

I had hawks HPS on my last car( mitsu eclipse) and they were ok, didnt feel like the braking improved much, but the dust amount was insane. Im also looking for a little to no dust pad, I believe someone said the redstuff pads from ebc? How are they dust wise?

my ebc redstuff pads actually put out more dust than my hawk hps pads. go figure

I have always been satisfied with Hawks.

Hawk HPS here, and on 3 other cars. They are the best all around pad IMHO.

I had Hawk HPS on my '94 Z and they produced wayyy to much brake dust. I'm pretty happy with the GM Durastops on the SS (and it brakes better but then again I have slotted rotors on the front of the SS.
