HELLO... Thanks Brian for getting this thread started...
HI Guys and Gals...
Our CSF website will be up and running with ALL of the 2009 information - THIS Saturday, 9am!! This includes online registration! In the meantime, here's some of the info that will be posted...

LATEST NEWS-
HELLO and WELCOME to CAMARO SUPERFEST 2009!!
The website NOW has ALL of our event information posted and our online
registration, using PayPal services is also ready for you to be among the
first to register! While this information has been posted, we are STILL
working on aspects of our event, especially the Friday evening Dinner
Cruise. However, we do have some HUGE news to report-
We're going to Michigan International Speedway on Friday afternoon!!!
Yes, we've been granted the privilege to return this year, for parade laps
around the high banks of MIS and you'll get that free photo of your Camaro
on the start/finish line! As you will read, there is one small catch for
this activity… a $10 per Camaro charge. While we have always (and will
always) strive to make our Friday activities a free part of the event, this
one we just could not afford to do without your help. The reason for the fee
is to cover the cost of an official MIS Safety Crew being there while we do
our laps and CSF needs to purchase an additional rider on our event
insurance. These are new requirements that MIS had in order to approve our
visit.
As mentioned in our initial new release (below) we've made some changes
for this year, to make the event more relaxed and less costly for you to
attend. This change is the PARTICIPANT VOTING for all of the awards. By
lowering our costs, we were able to lower your costs to enter your Camaro in
our event. With the tough economic times, we figured every bit we can save
you will help you decide to attend our event.
Also in that vein, our HQ Hotel, the Marriott at Eagle Crest, worked with
us greatly to come up with an innovative room pricing plan for you! As you
will read- we have 2 price plans and a bonus! Here's a bit more on these
plans…
PLAN 1- room rates are $109 per night, refundable. This is just the
regular room rate for our event, like any other year and any other hotel. If
you have to cancel, you have 24 hours before your reservation to cancel and
be refunded your total room costs.
PLAN 2- room rates are $99 per night with one night NON-refundable. This
means that you WILL be charged for one night's stay at $99, even if you
cancel your stay. You will only be charged for the one night, even if your
reservation was for 1, 2 or 3 nights.
Oh yeah, the BONUS… make your reservation by Feb 28th and you get a $10
gas card!
You can make your reservation online through the Marriott national website
and use the code CMRCMRA or call the hotel direct! We hope these prices and
choices will make your decision to attend CAMARO SUPERFEST an easier one!
OK… go ahead and check out all the other event information that's been
posted. As always, if you have questions, the best way to get an answer is
to email me or Randy, our EMCC President. Go to the "contact us" section for
our email addresses. Looking forward to seeing you this summer at CAMARO
SUPERFEST 2009!!

MIS Special Instructions…..

Welcome to CAMARO SUPERFEST 2009 and our Friday afternoon activity, parade laps around Michigan International Speedway. A HUGE Thank-You to MIS and the staff for allowing us this day’s activity for you! We will be leaving from the HQ Hotel in one huge mass of Camaro’s, cruising for about 55 minutes to the track. If you live west of MIS, you can meet us at the track IF you have already pre-registered for CSF. We will NOT have full registration capabilities at the track!! (at least at this time in planning)
Here are the SPECIAL instructions YOU will need to follow to participate in the MIS laps. These are simple, common sense rules and must be obeyed!!

1) you MUST be a registered participant in CAMARO SUPERFEST 2009 in order to drive your Camaro on the track
2) ONLY Camaro’s will be allowed to take parade laps ON the track. If you are trailering your Camaro, your truck and trailer must be left outside of the gate area… they will not fit through the tunnel area.
3) you MUST have a Xerox copy of your drivers license and proof of insurance. No copy, no laps!! And there are no copy machines at the track!
NO EXCEPTIONS!
4) everyone in your party MUST sign the MIS wavier form before you enter the track area.
5) follow the instructions of EMCC club members
6) we will gather on Pit Row. Drivers- head for the bleachers near the end of Pit Row for a quick drivers meeting.
7) we are doing PARADE LAPS… we are doing 60 mph MAX (or less) !!! NO SPEEDING!!!
8) we will go out in groups of 15-21 depending on our total Camaro turnout number
9) NO PASSING ! ! ! ! ! spread yourself out a bit and enjoy the ride!!
10) you will go out pit row into turn one, go around the track, crossing the start/finish line 3 times and then go around and return via the entrance to pit row, making almost 4 laps!
11) stay with your Camaro, as the line will move up as Camaros go out and return
12) once everyone has gone out… we will ALL go out together!! To do this you must STAY IN YOUR LANE!! We will use the first 3 lower lanes of the track and proceed at approx. 30 mph. We will do 2-3 laps enmasse!!
13) as we approach turn 4 on our last lap, we will CAREFULLY head down into the first 2 lanes of the track and park just shy of the start/finish line.
14) one at a time, you will be called up to a SPOT and your picture will be taken. Once your picture has been taken, you are free to stay and watch others, or head back to the HQ Hotel to relax until our dinner cruise. There are places to visit and eat along the way home if you wish. Note- each picture only takes approx. 30 seconds to take, but we will have a bunch to take… please be patient!
15) your picture should be available at the CSF show HQ on Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday. We will NOT mail your picture if you are not there to get it. You will need to make arrangements to get your photo.
16) you may (and we encourage it) want to pack a SMALL cooler with pop and snacks or even a lunch. NO BOOZE!!!!! We will be at the track for several hours, right in the middle of the day and nothing will be open at the track.
17) PLEASE make sure your fuel tank is FULL before you leave with us for the day!!

Lastly and most important… DO NOT SCREW-UP ! ! ! ! If you do not follow these simple rules, YOU will ruin this for everyone, as we will never be allowed to return!! Remember that we are GUESTS of MIS and they owe us nothing!! Your payment to be part of this activity entitles you to NOTHING… it simply covers the expense of us being here. This may sound harsh… but it’s reality!!
CAMARO SUPERFEST and EMCC members what you to have the best time of your life with us at MIS and CSF… but there are rules and they must be followed. Thanks!

Is there a date for this? Looks like you had a good turn out last year.

MIS will be on the 3rd, and then the car show is on Saturday and Sunday - the 4th and 5th of July. Unfortunately, 4th of July holiday weekend, but what better way to enjoy the holiday than this?

I know - I hate that it's on the 4th of July weekend but at the same time there's no way I'm missing 4 laps around MIS and then an extra set of laps with 300-something Camaros all at once. :D

Thats the downside. I'd make it out, but the 4th of July weekend has it's disadvantages. I'll see what I can do but I might only show up for the show on Sat. or Sunday morning if thats possible. I printed out the application but I'm doubting showing up.

Hey Joe - You're able to go for only one day, definitely. That's what I did last year - I went on Saturday which is all day. Sunday is only a partial day - you'll be on your way home by 3-4pm (going off of memory, but I believe they have it outlined in the event schedule). IMHO, the ability to go for laps around MIS on Friday makes attending this event for people in the Michigan area a "must do" event. The opportunity does not come around often.

Me, my buddy, and my girlfriend had a talk about it and it looks like I'll show up depending on anything going on that weekend. I have to take work off that Friday which will be all overtime, so I have to put that into consideration also, the other thing is trailering or driving the car. I have to give it all some thought.
