Arm Drop Racing

Thought I'd share with my LTX family.

I'm at a test n tune event at an airport today. It's no prep armdrop racing. The rain kept a lot of cars from coming out. But it's fun. I'll post pics and vids when I can.

I put some crummy street tires on and drove to the airport. I swapped out my for bi-ply tires and commenced showing what my old LT can do.

First off I raced an older s10 with a decent running 350 in it. Got him by about 8 twice in a row.

From there I have got me a built 300c, a Mazda LS1 RX7, a built sbc camaro on a 200shot, a can full bolt on ls camaro, a nitrous foxbody, and last a 200 shot fox.

Everyone keeps asking if I'm spraying and they are calling me a liar. lol. Just an all motor lt1. It's paid for.

The only car I sprayed was the blue fox on juice. It runs good. I went around him when I hit the button. I was like paul walker ;) just for a sec.

That kind of racing is a blast and it looks like you had a great time.

Eastern Hot Rodder Magazine put on something like that a few years ago where they had flag man starts. I took second place and the magazine covered the whole event for the next issue. There should be more fun racing like that.

Yes sir! I did have fun. It was smooth. No stops in the action at all. I didn't know they had a rule change and let any dot drag radial in eliminations or I would have raced dater day :((

It is pretty fun. Just not a whole lot of cars here now. Politics got involved and ruined it.

But there is one in South Webster Ohio at the KD dragway a this Friday and Saturday if anyone is close by. Now that one should have lots of cars! And classes for most anyone!

Rearends finally gave out today at the no prep race. But my lil LT1 won runner up in the drag radial N/A class!!!! I'm always representin our forum too. I love my windshield banner!! Here's a few pics.

Yes. I screenshot it and use it for inspiration! Saved in my photo album lol. I broke my neck to line up with him twice at the track. I goofed he got the hit and I still busted him.

I like my hood. Anything bigger would probably be a little overkill lol.

how often do they do arm drop races where you are?

Actually quite often. Almost one TNT/grudge a month. And 3 event races with payouts.

The TNT had a last man standing last month for 500 bucks.

Last one is October 24. Supposed to be a winner take all pot.

I finally inspected my broken rear. Not as bad I initially thought. Looks like the ring and pinion survived and possibly the axels!!!

It is an awesome event. But drama has killed the car count some. Loud mouth ppl on Facebook mad and running their mouthed have driven ppl away. It once had up to 200 cars there. Now it hovers around 50-75. But is still fun with 500 dollar payout for 1st, 250 for 2nd and 25 for 3rd!!!

yeah down here we use to have arm drop races on Wednesday nights and the tree TnT on Fridays and events on Fridays and Saturdays they dropped the Wednesdays a long time ago and just keep Fridays open to everyone and Saturdays are only once a month but we are open year round so that's cool
