We are doing our own engraving on the caps this year and we need anything you've got. Even if they are cracked, I can still use them to get the fixture, sizing, placement just right. Thanks!

Much appreciated guys. Yes that was on the new cnc. Finally getting the programming figured out. After I get all the caps engraved I'm going to make a pan to collect and return coolant to a pump for aluminum.
Any caps (cracked or greesy are fine) can be sent to

Those look sweet! Wish I had one to send, but I don't have any laying around anymore. Gave 3 or 4 a couple years ago haha.

Do you guys like the all engraved look or should I just engrave the "X" and mill out the other letters?

I like what u showed in the pic.

What you have in the pic looks great. I was trying to figure out what mill out them meant, but I did some research I guess that means the letters would look perfect or stamped?

If that's the case it seems to look better this way....just my opinion...

Sent one cap to you, should be there by the end of the week....crack on the side. Luckily I spotted it before installation lol

Thank you. This is what I mean by milled..

This is a cap that I did using a font that was available in my CNC software. milling is just making the entire letter and recessed into the cap.

The other cap I did I had to draw the LTX shootout logo in AutoCAD and then manually enter the tool motions and I used a much smaller bit. I will try to do another tonight on a piece of wood and show the difference. I need to shrink it down a little bit anyway because I'm almost out of cap

Well they both look great, and im not artist but heres my opinion ha....

I like the idea of milling the letters, and engraving the x (larger than the font)....i think the contrast will look good....also sounds like it will be easier for you..

im pretty new here so im not sure how yall did them before, but it also seems to look better with the words stacked on top of eachother, to fill up the cap more

Edit: i asked my significant other, she said that she pretty much agrees with what i said but she doesnt like the way the x is so thick on the engraved one

Absolutely. I've got a box of trophy parts ready to assemble. I'm waiting until I get all the caps so I can engrave them at the same time

Sent mine out today. Should be there in about 4-5 business days. I thought I had two but I guess I used the other one for an emergency replacement last year.

Dang those look awesome chris. .. you did that with a chris and hammer right?

Haha yea. I really like the way the black and red cap turned out. The lines are pin point because i didn't set the tool as deep. I used a 30° tapered engraving bit so the deeper you go the wider the outline is. I just don't think that the more shallow engraving will show up as well after paint. I'm going to try them both out and see what works and looks best. Also going to experiment with coloring in the letters to match the logo, then clearcoat. Arod6692 has already volunteered to paint them :p
