Hey everyone, my name is Jon. I was in high school in the 90's and always loved trans am's. Now that I'm in my mid 30's and make more than $6/hour and trans am's aren't $28k new anymore, I decided to finally get one. I always liked the the way the lt1 models looked better than the ls1's so that's what I went with, 1995 trans am. I'm tickled to death to finally have one. I had an old school mechanic rebuild the motor for me. I work on old Harley's, the t/a is a little more complicated and won't fit on my motorcycle lift! Anyway, I just wanted the build to be done with so I could start driving it. It runs pretty damn good now and is pretty much bone stock except for a k&n cai that I put on and the cats have been removed by previous owner (not sure how I feel about that). Anyway happy to be here and read up on what everyone has going on. :claps:

Welcome to the site... tell us more about u and ur plans for the car (i grad highschool in 94, so i get it btw).

When u said u dont know how u feel about the cats being removed...is that a "green" concern or u dont like the sound?

Whatever it is... look forward to seeing more from u.

Right now, the next thing on the list is to get a new headliner. It's in pretty rough shape and I figured there's not much of a headliner anyway because of the t-tops. Also whoever had the car before me rattle canned the rims gold, not to my liking. The paint is 3.5 out of 5 stars so I'm going to leave that alone for now. Also trying to figure out how to change the fog lamp bulb. It's a mystery to me but I'm sure it's in this forum somewhere so I'll do a little digging around for that. As far as the cats go, I like the sound. It really growls when you hit it. It's a little of a green thing. From what I've read, I could be wrong it doesn't really affect the performance that much so it seems like an unnecessary evil to me. I'm not a tree hugger or anything just torn about it. But it's no big deal.

About me, I run a scrap metal brokering company. It's a family business I'm the second generation. I have two motorcycles that I ride all over. About 20k miles a year. I once got lost in the Mohave desert like in family vacation on a bike that really wasn't made for the desert. Lately I've been driving more than riding because I love this car so much AND because I was in a cast for about 2 months recently after I broke my wrist in a motorcycle accident.

Wow... that desert story must be GOOD!

As for the foglight...My friend just did the fog lamp bulb in my ta for me. I was told the skin has to come off to do it.... it does NOT. He went in from under the car and had it done in 10 min.

You def found the right place man. Check out the site and if u need anything, just holla!
