Hey all. I have a 1996 lt1 camaro with 3.23 gears and recently I change the pinion seal and it was my first time doing so.I was a idiot and tightened the yolk bolt Down with a impact. Well all was good for awhile and just yesterday when I would put the car in park or drive and let it coast there seems to be a slight quite grinding/rubbing noise. The car also feels very sluggish at WOT until high rpm. The only other time I can hear the sound is when I am driving and I let off the gas and coast. It's bugging me and I don't know the first thing about a rear end. Is there a post or did shbox do a write up explaining how to change everything out in the rear end if I have too?

Have you diagnosised the problem? We're is the nose coming from for sure. Sounds like you can replace the pinion seal and replace the cush sleeve and tighten the pinion nut correctly with out having caused any damage to the rear end.
Good luck
