Years ago a member here and on LS1tech was selling "oil pump drive savers". It was a piece of stamped steel that went on top of the stock plastic oil pump drive and prevented it from spinning if the plastic were to break. I've been trying to contact him in several different ways with no response. I'd debating on having a batch of these made and pricing the stamped steel vs cnc'd aluminum options. Obviously the stronger alternative would be to use the billet piece Fastbird has available but would anyone be interested in these if I were to have them made?

Here's a pic I found on LS1tech of them in case anyone doesn't remember.

depends on the price point. if this is an inexpensive option, then yes I would be interested if it approaches near 1/3 of the cost of the billet piece, then I'd go with the billet piece.

Not sure on how soon still waiting on bids to come back. Problem is initial cost of setting up a jig to stamp it or writing the program to CNC it. Obviously I don't have the ability to do either myself so I have to pay to have it done, yet still make them an affordable option. Really wish the guy making them before would get back with me. Right now I'm trying to keep them at or below about $45 shipped and at that price the one's Fastbird has become much more appealing. The cost for his is a very good deal, just trying to get a more budget friendly option out there. When I get some solid numbers I'll get back with everyone.

I wish I was further along with my cnc project. There's a lot of this and that you need to make it work. I ordered the spindle motor cooler thst "everyone recommends and it's got 1" inlets and outlets. The spindle motor has 5mm compression fittings. I should have just bought the not complete kit but everyone went on and on with this pump. Now it's crunch time on cars and my new investment has taken a backseat unfortunately. This is all the further I've gotten... http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/03/12/fd1c519f2d8999a3b9c129ed7bf79ec2.jpg
I was testing out an engraving program with hopes of doing the golden opti caps for the shootout. Time will tell if im able to get that far

Chris, I was just talking to dawdaw about this, I didn't know you bought a CNC! When you get it together I'd love to talk to about producing some stuff.

Well folks it looks like I'm gonna hold off on this. When Chris gets his deal up and running we'll look into it again. The cost to start up a production run is just too much to justify the cost of each part individually. Sorry to break the bad news but thanks for the interest and I'll let everyone know if things change in the future.

Its all good. Even better that you keep the business between members... in house.
