Just tryn to get a list of stuff i need so i can start my build, would like to be 11's on motor, and can i stay opti and my stock pcm or do i need a aftermarket stuff like x24 and FASTefi to do it? btw my car is a 97 z28 m6. tyvm for all info and insight!

You should learn how to google.

You basically asked how you internet. In short, if you do it right, I would say anticipate $20-30k for a reliable low 10 sec car.

10k atm but the reason it comes off like i have downz is because most places on the net are filled with fgt trolls and most dont even have an lt1 let alone a car.
so i came here to find insight from exp'd lt1 builders/racers/community, in hopes of getting some of the real world exp's most of u have gone through. Just tryn to pick the brains of actually genuine lt1 owners tyvm.

I think you could build a half way decent car for 12 grand and run solid 10s all day.

Grand for a nitrous system.
2 grand for a used Dana 60 or 9"
1 grand in miscellaneous suspension pieces like shocks and ta
200 bucks for an upgraded pump
3 to 4 grand for a built 355/383
2 to 3 grand for a built trans and converter
1 gGrandin miscellaneous (tune, plugs, etc)

That's a very very generic run down but that touches the main things like an engine, trans and drive train. There's a lot of possibilities and combos but a simple nitrous combo will be the cheapest

Absolutely can on stock opti and pcm. As far as trans goes, it's personal opinion. There are guys running 8s with an m6.

The M6 will be the tough part. With a stalled auto you could run 10's N/A all day long with a budget of $10k. Having the stick makes it tougher to do. A good heads/cam setup can get you around 430+rwhp with all of the supporting bolt-ons. That is enough power to get a 3500lb car into the 10's. A good rear will eat about $2k-$2500 of your budget. A 10-bolt simply won't survive at those kind of power levels, so keep that in mind.

sbe lt1 for now but working on a 8.8 or 9" for now and will most likely do a fully forged 355 but like the the idea of a 396. real question for u guys is what is the best and most cost effective trans to run big power through and still maintain weekend crusier? will be a nitrous car for sure 250+ shot just want the best results
