Hello I'm wondering if any of you have experience with the SLP bilstein shocks/struts. I'm wondering If I can run them with my stock suspension springs. I have a 1997 Trans Am Non WS6. I would like to buy them as an upgrade, but I don't want to buy new springs because mine are still good. but my shocks and struts are stock from 97 and could definitely use changing.

I think you'll be fine with SLP Bilstein shocks and stock springs. Lots of guys have went that route for a stock replacement and are satisfied. You should notice a difference for sure, especially if your stockers are worn.

Thanks for the input. Yeah my stockers are shot. I live in Wisconsin so my car is put away til spring, but I'm trying to stay ahead of the game and get parts before it comes out. I think I'm going to order the SLP Bilstein Shocks and Struts.

is it recommended to pair up the SLP Bilstein shocks (http://4wheelonline.com/BilsteinShocks.4997) to aftermarket springs?

is it recommended to pair up the SLP Bilstein shocks (http://4wheelonline.com/BilsteinShocks.4997) to aftermarket springs?any lowering spring works well with them except ls1 eibach springs. I ran slp bilsteins with umi and loved them

IIRC they are meant as a direct replacement for stock ride height, but work very well when lowered also. I've only used them with my BMR springs so I can't comment further.

From what I've read, the HD and SLP shocks are the same these days. And Bilstein says right on their site that the B6 shocks are designed for OEM springs. There's plenty of guys running around with Bilsteins on stock springs anyway.
