I have a 1996 firebird trans am. I began trying to do a throttle body coolant bypass about 2 months ago. I was fine until I got the wear I need to get the clamp off that silver steam pipe in the picture. It's turned at a very weird angle where it can't be rotated around. I've tried pulling it out, I've tried pushing it out with a flat head screw driver, I've tried cutting out all the rubber hose under it to make it move but it won't work. I've tried drilling through it but that doesn't work. I need ideas. I can't drive it cause of the huge gap there, which is what someone told me to do so I can get a better grip on it but it doesn't work.
Is my only option left to get a hand held dremel and cut it off? Will it even work? I brought a mechanic in but he couldn't do it, he didn't have the dremel so he would have to come back (money down the drain). So what can I do?

I'm trying to figure out what it is you're trying to remove. Is it just the piece of rubber hose on the steam line?

Yup. There's a silver clamp holding it on, and only a few inches of room to fit tools in. I can't fit alot in the there though. The clamp is extremely stuck and refused to budge.

remove the alternator bracket brace, rotate it around with a screwdriver, then cut or use channel locks to get off

I'll try that tomorrow before I go to get a dremel. I know that bolt is really stuck on, I'll try and find a part so I could use my drill.

Could you fit a hacksaw blade in there? if not just cut the pipe behind all that clamp and mess, if you going to run a hose back to the radiator then it shouldnt matter

Okay so, I couldn't budge the bracket nor could I fit a hacksaw in there, so I ran down to lowes and got a tiny dremel and used a polishing/drilling tool to get rid of the rubber hose underneath it. The little sucker FINALLY came off. Now, I have a smaller, easier problem to fix (I hope). I can't figure out for the life of me where this rubber elbow connects to. I could've sworn I only removed 2 hoses to get room to get this clamp off, plus it's on top of the engine and not in an awkward corner. Help?

I went to go start the car up, and it worked great! But no fluids or anything came out of that rubber elbow, so I took it for a drive for 10 minutes, popped the hood, and there wasn't any fluids from it. What's it do?

Evap purge it should have a line that goes to the intake

Just found out its the vacuum detection switch for the evap purge system. It's not supposed to connect to anything, it's just a a vent. Thanks though guys
