My car has an LS1 front end conversion, was done really poorly unfortunately. Noticed a lot of things after I bought the car, behind the scenes kind of stuff that I was really unimpressed with. Only time will tell if I bury the car, or fix it. I always thought the LT1 WS6 front ends looked way more aggressive than the LS1 WS6 front ends. I'd gladly straight trade back to the LT1 style lol...

lol, never understood why people did the 98-02 conversion on lt1's... you pop the hood and you always see a dirty ole lt1 with a fat oil stain on the intake.

i would probably not do the opposite for a 98-02 either..

I like both front ends just as much, so i would take either when it comes to the camaro. But with the Birds The LS1 Birds/TAs look much better then the 93-97 style.

But, to expand on this.I think it's safe to say ~50/50 of camaro enthusiasts like the LT1 body style better (some of which are LS1 owners due to wanting something newer, faster, more reliable)

IMO, why would I buy a LS1 and switch the front clip? Sure the LS1 has a few more ponies stock, but that's about it. (granted I love the 97+ interior, but I have a 97 :heart:)

Why not just buy a LT1, and make it faster than a LS1? It's very easy to make a LT1 run 12's and be VERY reliable. Not only that but you've got (IMO) the better body style, a unmolested car (unless you consider a small cam or a little shot of the bottle molesting a car.... which if done poorly... is) and a better sounding car.

Sorry but having owned both a heavily modded LT1 doesn't compare AT ALL to even a lightly modded LS1. Hell, when I went from LT1 to LS1 then another LS1 and back to an LT1 just looking at that headache of an engine (to work on especially) made me sick to my stomach. Sold in two weeks for an LS1...

Regardless, I still like the look of most LT1's (even the WS6 cars) compared to their LS1 counterparts (and I mean stock SS/WS6 LT1 compared to stock SS/WS6 LS1. Otherwise a Sunoco Cowl goes a long way ;) )...

I don't really like my front end, but that may change when I get a brand new bumper cover, mine has some small flaws that drive me nuts, like the two holes for the license plate, and the mess hiding under the aluminum bars in my headlight buckets (looks like it had covers at one time, but tons of little holes were drilled).

I like the looks of both. I love the looks of the LS1 SS's from the front though.

I definately like the looks of the 98-02 Trans Ams better than the 93-97's (still like the looks of those though! ;)). The T/A's in general look mean and like they want to go out and kick some ass.

If we evr get an ls1 SS the front can stay. If we pick up a high mile Ls1 Z on the cheap, it will definately get an LT1 front clip.

For the longest time I have been wanting to swap an ls1 into a 93 to 97 car. I started thinking about it, I have been seeing ls1 Camaros going for 3800-5000 lately. It would be a whole lot less work to swap the older front clip onto the newer car than it would be to swap the ls1 into the 93-97. Plus, I'm sure that there are quite a few that would rather the 98-02 and would swap clips with no money out of pocket (except for paint).

Of course, just my $.02. I'd get an LS1 camaro and put an LT1 front end on it, but I'm not much of a body man. I decided to put $25K into my LT1 machine and make 600+ RWHP. It just seemed like the better idea :devil:
