But I couldn't help myself on this one, two weeks ago I got a 81 firebird, traded my LS swap 89 for it and was happy. Then a week later, despite my better judgement picked up one of my 'Unicorn' cars. White 96 SS, Key points are that its White and a 96 SS, only thing it didn't have was a T56.. but as it turned out, I had a built LT1/T56 combo sitting in the garage.

I bought the car as a roller, but with a complete disassembled drive train that will now make its way into my gas sucking 81.

Yeah, the motor is Pontiac blue.. it came out of my 96 Trans am that got parted out due to me buying the 93 Corvette (pictured)
I figured the blue looks good with the white since I love white/blue combo and it will make for a convo starter at the lest.

the motor is a 355 with 6in rods, LE cam, Trick flow 21* out of box, Electric water pump and some light porting on the intake manifold. I would like to see 410-440 whp out of the car but who knows.

Yeah, its Pontiac blue because the motor came out of my 96 Trans am. Im on a time frame so I didn't have time to repaint it Chevy Orange, but blue and white work well together.

sweet, I was going to put this drive train into my 84 corvette, but the 3:07 gears and Dana 36 wouldn't be a good combo witch lead me to looking for a better home for the motor/trans.

Yeah... my rear will be my weak point... but ill worry bout it when i break it. I will be upgrading to steeper gears in the vette tho.

After a few weeks of opti problems it turns out I had a really shitty chandler opti.. the rotor was machined wrong and was mechanically retarding the timing about 30 degrees! Swapped the cap and rotor and new optical sensor onto my old opti and it fired up just fine.

My original SS air intake is kind of rough, im not sure if I should use it.. theres a small hole in it that needs to be fixed somehow, and its missing one of the clamps, and doesn't play well with the aftermarket elbow.

My 97ss had an SLP sticker on the shroud also but someone spray bombed it so now it has nothing.

I have an extra ram air base that's in decent shape I may get rid of no clips or top though. I found on eBay you can get an impala as ram air setup alit cheaper than one from a Camaro its the same other than it doesn't say Camaro or Chevrolet its just blank

Thanks, luckily this engine was painted GM blue instead of Pontiac blue like my 89 Firebird had, otherwise I might not have looked right.
