The term freedom of expression is sometimes used synonymously, but includes any act of seeking, receiving and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used.

This goes beyond freedom of speech. This specific page is an attempt to coerce individuals to commit a crime.

Depending on the ability to prove that this page caused anyone any more harm could fall under RISKING A CATASTROPHY.... etc etc... (extreme example... but trying to show the difference).

A page called "Cops are No good Because of the things that have happened" ...that would be just fine under FREEDOM of SPEECH.

Absolutley, and if you remember 2live crew went through all kinds of stuff , even being banned from FLORIDA over lyrics....

The problem here is the page was an attempt (poorly executed) attempt to organize violence against a group based on that group. ITs no longer a freedom of speech issue and crosses the line into criminality...

CHICOPEE, MA (WSHM) - A Chicopee man who officials say made a threatening comment towards police on a social media page will be charged.
Police say Charles Dirosa wrote, “Put Wings On Pigs” on his Facebook page Monday.
Followers of the Chicopee Police Department Facebook page alerted officials to the post and detectives investigated what they called a disturbing comment.
"After the events of the past few days, the PD took this threat very seriously," Chicopee police officials wrote on the department's Facebook page.
The Chicopee resident was identified as the Facebook user who wrote the comment and his information was given out to Massachusetts State Police and local police departments for officer safety.
Chicopee police say Dirosa will be summonsed to court for threatening to commit a crime.
Police departments across the nation were on high alert Sunday and Monday after a gunman fatally ambushed (http://m.kfvs12.com/story/27679996/killer-of-2-nyc-officers-had-long-criminal-history) two NYPD officers in their squad car this weekend.

I agree to an extent... but honestly... its a new day. Social media is becoming and has been becoming the medium used for everything... including job back grounds... criminal investigations etc. Pages like these are the equiv of the assholes u met in person back in the day before social media.

Its funny... being around the school and students everyday...its soooo obvious the new generation has nooooo idea how to interact with each other.

When i was their age...and there was an issue... we got called to the office for fighting...or talking shit.

now they get called down and we have screen shots of threats made via snapchat and mean things posted about each other.

We sit the kids down together and try to "mediate".... and things like eye contact...hand shakes...etc... Gone.... totally mia.
