Shifter is in finally. I bought an off brand for half what a name brand was. Cable was too short and didn't include the right bracket. Whatever, still looks good. Trans pan has been drilled and tapped for temp sender. And......exhaust is done!! Some BAMF is making me a sweet custom exhaust ring for it.

TB is 4", turbo outlet is 3.5". Lag is no issue, it'll be 12" long. I have 4" to spare from the exhaust. Should I run a 4" pipe or a 3.5"?

The smallest diameter is still gonna be there, so all you do is gain weight by running big pipe to a neck down.

Driveshaft and fittings came in today. I almost don't wanna put it under the car. It's a dynotech 4" with some huge u joint ends and son really pretty welds. Says "Daytona 500" on it and the date. It's off of a true nascar. Found a place that sold em for $119. Turns out it was a typo but they let me buy it anyway. SCORE!!!

Fuel. At the rail, I used a lowes fitting I stead of an AN to get me by. New fitting came in yesterday.


This car is a tin can compared to the iroc or green car. I lost a lot in the platform but I also went from a 4l80e to a powerglide and an S60 to an 8.8. That's roughly 120lbs right there I'd say.

Wow that's crazy it's getting that bad of fuel economy. My buddy Brian runs his turbo motor on e85 around 15 to 17 to 1 on a -8 plug and it gets around 13mpg. I don't like running it that lean personally

Took my buddy for a ride today, it hit the limiter fast, then hooked, I shifted, and it felt like the converter was really loose. On the way back thru, we found a 70' stripe that got really light, then about 100' of dark stripe again (2nd gear). I guess the tires need warmed up before launch LOL.

Yeah. He found that and traded the 5.0 on it. Got a good deal on it. $39k, 20k miles on it, almost 600hp, got 24mpg headed down here. Thing is a blast to ride in.

Been working a LOT lately. But tinkering with car when I can. Exhaust is wrapped, painted some stuff, fixed the dome light and an oil leak, got drivers side door to lock finally but it needs an actuator, and tidied up a bit. Still needs some un-cluttering but looks way better.

Got a neat little toy in the mail today. I have an ultragauge I used for mph, temps, etc. We'll I'll have to use GPS in this car, trans has no speedo provision. So I bought a PLX Kiwi. It plugs into my usb port and bluetooths to my phone. Uses my phone gps for speed and the pcm for everything else. It does DTCs and other cool stuff. Here's a screenshot of Lacey's Ecoboost Fusion on the way home from work. Can't wait to try it in the mustang.

I gotta keep my wideband, boost, and trans temp gauge though. It's quick to update but seems to lag about a quarter second. Not fast enough to be a "time sensitive" gauge. Enough for ECT, MPH, IAT, etc though.

Started to burn 1 piston, blown head gasket, and had water come from 5 cylinders. Block looks like it just needs a hone. NO visible damage to block so far. Gonna tear the bottom end apart later this week.

It went lean, I have a couple ideas why. It's either pump deadheaded or injector. Both will be fixed while I'm in here.

Pumps bypass valve opens at 80psi. I run 60 base, hit 23 psi since i fixed my boost leak. 83psi fuel pressure.

AFR was 3% rich at 19 psi (commanded 11.3), 12% lean at 22psi (13afr). Only thing I can come up with that would drop it that far. VE table is smooth where it happened.

13 afr on that much boost and the hot plug your running is asking for trouble . If you had a much colder plug like a 8 or 9 it may or may not have lifted . Tough to say . I'm switching to the plug your running . It was what mark sullen recommends with a resistor style plug on e85

If I go with a 7 it fouls in minutes even with a 14.3 to 14.7 idle afr. Now that I'm bumping cr to 9.5ish, I may try 7s again.

I would start with a cold plug. And target 11.0 to 11.2 afr. As you get it to 11.0 to 11.2 throw the br6 back in it and that thing will rip . That's how mark recommends doing it so you don't start off with a hot plug right off the bat and go lean

Hows the afr at idle and part throttle under vacuum? Got into any boost yet? It sounds good

Idle afr is 12.8, part throttle is around 12.5, wot is 11.5 in boost.

It runs so smoothly, you'd never know it was a carb. It's pretty cool.

More? It's running 11.5 AFR already. How rich does it need to be?

11.0 to 11.3 . 11.5 is definitely good but itll probably want a hair bit more depending on boost and weather conditions. Mines na and i run it at 11.7.

Oh no..........sorry man but I HATE holes cut in hoods with shit sticking through. Just totally cheapens it (it being whatever it is done to). I see so many vette's that would be so sick and clean except for shit sticking through the hood. Just don't like it. But again, your car, not mine, my opinion may differ. That's all. Still love your car yo.

Just make sure to get the edges finished... even if u just slit some small rubber hose and stick it around the edges.. i think if u do that then paint the hood like ur stock one with a black center... it could look good.

I'm really 50/50 on it. If nothing else, I can make a 1/4" hood spacer at work and make it fit under the cowl.

The hood is getting paint today tho. Lacey came out to tell me it looks "fucking stupid", so that means I'm doing it right! I'll post pics of the finished hood. It's gonna look very different and flashy. Worst thing that happens is I throw the cowl back on if it does indeed look "fucking stupid".

I found some trim for stuff like this somewhere and for the life of me, I can't remember where it's at. Vacuum line isn't a bad idea. I cut it a little wide in a couple spots on accident, but with the engine vibrating, it may help me out.
