View Full Version : 200 hit on the stock LT1 long block

okay so my car LOVED the 150 wet shot through a shark nozzle. only mods were br7es (2 steps colder than stock) plugs and open long tube no tuning ... car went from 13.7 to 11.9 on the 150 shot

so i was pulling the fuel off the rails for the 150 shot so it was spraying 91 octane fuel that was in the tank. i was thinking about changing a few thing and stepping up the shot to a 200 hit

so go with one more step colder plugs 8 heat range
convert my washer fluid tank to hold race gas when i want to spray and use 110 or maybe C16
ditch the nozzle and go with a nitrous outlet plate for better atomization and distribution.
and maybe pull a little timing ... like 2-4*
and spray a 200 shot on a progressive switch.

i know it will be risky but i have forged waiting to go in once it pops

think it will work?

So middpipe or catback? Or do you just have open cutouts while you spray?

I would highly recommend against putting fuel in your engine bay. A fuel cell would be more ideal and not that hard to install in the t-top storage area. Someone else can chime in regarding the other things, but keep safety in mind first.

I agree with harner that fuel in the engine bay is not a great idea.... ar least not in ur plastic windshield washer container. If u must do it... do jt RIGHT and get one of those aluminum purpose built small fuel cells for the motor compartment.

Or

Are u gomna wait till it goes bad first hand like the street racing thing did???

if its such a bad idea then why did the thread showing how to do it get stickied?

and @KoolPwny (http://ltxtech.com/forums/member.php?7375-KoolPwny) its just open headers ... no exhaust on the car.

I always wondered that as well...plastic container...never intended to have fuel in it ... mounted on the outside of the core support....looks fine to me

you will want to pull more than 2-4 degrees for a 200 shot...you should be pulling that or more for the 150...then another 2-4 for the 200

Wow... is this the one zooguy? If so please let me know because if threads like this are going to motivate people like urself to do this amd think its safe cause it was stickied in 2009... I will be QUICK to REMOVE (not only un STICK) it.
JPack posted the safer .... proper way... see that FUEL cell...

Thats...why its called a FUEL cell and not a WINDSHIELD WASHER resovoir....

Let me know...

No way in hell would i ever chance doing it like in that write up. Wow. I have done a meth kit there though. Thats a whole different thing than using it as a stand alone fuel cell. Do it right if you are gonna do it like i did in the above pic.

In for this and a 200 shot on stock long block with open headers and fouled o2's...

Please be sure to post vids and pics...

AChotrod has some nice info/pictures in his build thread if I recall. He had a real sharp looking fuel cell in his car dedicated with race gas for nitrous. I would totally emulate that configuration if you wish to run a second tank.

Yeah the nitrous outlet set up is very nice ....

I'm running a jazz dedicated nitrous enrichment cell, which granted it's not as nice as a fabbed aluminum set up but it was intended to be a cell and it's half the price as the nitrous outlet one.

Josh got me mine .

Roughly 125 for tank
75 for a walbro
100 for a regulator
And 50 in lines and fittings

And u have a fully functional dedicated that will be legal. .. and please pull a lot more then 2 to 4 degrees of timing ... and buy some c 23 incase .. maybe chopsticks can recommend you a plug . Br8efs? ??

Or vp import. I always liked the smell of that stuff :) maybe some propylene oxide ... that will make you go faster and will give you a few extra brain cells

yes that was the post popo8
TubbyFormy i am not running o2's ...i will be doing a wide band in each spot

so i wonder how hard it would be to make a fuel cell and weld it up myself ... cant be too hard and should save me a lot of money

There are some things that shouldnjust be more important than saving money... but i guess if u have the skill....

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I thought fuel cells need to be SFI-certified?

why not convert to e85? or is it not available in your area?

all i know about the corn fuel is that lots of boosted guys run it ... not sure why but i know i have to get a special fuel pump for it and bigger injectors ... that is all i know ... i dont know how much bigger injectors ... or how to change the tuning for it.

popo8

I believe the corn is rated at much higher octane... allows for more flexible and safer tuing than pump or even race fule.

You will also have to go up fuel jet size on the nitrous.
