I thought that the rear calipers on an LT1 F body had to be ground down a little to clear a set of 15" wheels?
I was at a friends house today looking at his dads 94 Z28 (396, afr's, Th400, and a D1sc). He had to grind the fins and some of the upper face of the caliper to fit a set of pro stars on it.
I borrowed the grinder anticipating to "trim" the calipers a little.
I bolted on my draglites to check for clearance and I had anout an 1/8" in all areas.
Maybe the draglites have a little more clearence. BTW, they are a 15x10 w/ 6.5" BS. I know that a 7.5" BS would be optimal, but I only plan on making a couple passes and than they go back on the Cobra.
BTW, I am going to try and get Stephs car into the 12's tomorrow. Hopefully it drives home under its own power.

Should be doable if the rear will hold. :D

had to grind my calipers quite abit to fit my 15x10 w/7.5" bs draglites. but i also had brand new rotors and pads. so that moves the caliper closer to the rim.

Yeah, the barrel of the wheel may have a smaller diameter closer to the face. I know my TTIIs do.

i have the same thing as you, 1" shorter backspacing then you do with me aero's and no rubbing. its only if you have the proper backspacing, then it will rub.

I've heard it all depends on the wheel if you will have to grind.
Good luck shooting for 12's. Not only do I wish I lived in a warmer climate, but also wish there were tracks around here that actually prepped for test and tune night, and I wish I lived closer to sea level.:(

I think I'd be depressed if I went anywhere else to race.
In fact... the one time I did was at KCIR and I gave up after 3 or 4 runs. my times were HORRIBLE.

Before IRP (Indianapolis Raceway Park) became ORP (O'Reilly Raceway Park) we called it "Ice RP". In fact I only took the blown car to the track once last year, now part of this was lack of practice but most of it was street tires, no prep, and extremely hot weather. My one and only pass I ended up with a 2.55 60ft, then I felt the car mis bad (due to broken #5 plug) and said screw it and babied it to a 13.1 @ 120:laugh:
Hell my other car only ran a 13.1 @ 109 on a 50 shot earlier that summer at that track. That's with an auto and nitto DR's and a 1.9 60ft. 1.9 is the best ever 60ft for me at IRP.
I suck at racing, our track sucks, that is why I tend to watch more than run.:embarassed: Rant over:)

Well, I definatly did not meet mya goal.
The conditions were not as good as I thought they were going to be. It was hot as hell with a nasty headwind.
The best I was able to get was a 13.3 @ 106 with a pittiful 2.1 60 ft.
We will not be taking it to the track on a sticky tire again until it gets a better clutch. I slipped it a little to much on the 13.3 pass and it pretty much let go in first, after the cars speed finally cought up with the engine speed the clutch held for the rest of the pass.
I wish that the conditions were better. The last time out I ran a 13.1 @ 107.
I really wanted to get a 12 out of it before doing anymore mods, but it looks like we are just going to have to skip the 12's and go straight for the 11's:metal:

I did not have to ground my rears for my Draglites. It is a 15x10 with 7.5 BS.
