This weekend was the NMCA/LSX Shootout in Norwalk, Ohio, which is Summit Motorsports Park. There were a ton of cars with a bunch of special classes added such as a Ford Cobra Jet Showdown. I figured I'd head down just to have a little fun since the race is so freakin close to us. I got there in 3hours 38mins, from Tonawanda. No stopping, and used a little less than 3/4's of a tank. I entered True Street which consists of a 30 mile cruise, then 3 back-to-back passes without touching your car (other than air pressure). If you pop your hood you are DQ'd, can't do the cruise you get DQ'd, or can't complete all 3 passes, you get the boot. There were 65 cars total, and everyone made the cruise that I saw. I'd say about 5 or 6 dropped out during the passes. The facility is easily the best track i've ever been to, not that i've been to a lot of national tracks, but it blows away Cecil, and Beech Bend. The place is enormous and spotlessly clean. All of the workers have professional shirts, even the kids working the concession stands. Just a top notch operation in every way. The grandstands look brand new and can probably seat 10,000+. This class was open to all makes and models, even LT1's, and there were 2 of them in attendance.

My girl shot a video as we were 1/4 way through the pits. You can see how many CobraJet race cars were there. There had to be 35+. Not all of them ran down the track. Some were for sale.

They have a bunch of track photographers all over the place. Instead of posting small pictures of your car and HOPING you'll go over to their stand to check them out and purchase them, they make a plaque of all of the cars and then walk right over to your car and ask if you want to purchase them. I'm sure they get way more sales this way. I think it came out awesome!

Norwalk is my go to track. It's top notch like you said. You should go to the Halloween classic they have in October.

Cool pics btw!

I saw a bunch of classes run, but during the true street event I couldn't wander too far. I was very impressed with the quality of the cars, but some of the "LSX" classes were very poorly attended. Only 3 cars entered into "All Motor". I could have entered my car, and instantly been into the semi-finals, lol. Only 6 cars in "LSX Drag Radial". The rumble class was packed, but that is about it. The rest had between 8-15 cars. For a race of this caliber, I expected a bigger turnout.
