anyone with fuel rail covers on your lt1 post up pictures and what you had to do to get them to fit. i just got mine for my 96 ss. just wondering if there is anything that you have to do other than cutting notches for the pcv and alternator. it seems there is a sensor or something on the pass side that sticks up high. is this going to be a problem. how low do the covers go? are they flush w/ the valve covers or do they stick up? any help would be great. thanks.

Pretty easy to do, notched for the alt. bracket and quite a bit back by the fuel pressure regulator and the vacuum line on the driver side.

Here's a (very, very old) pic of mine. I had a friend roll me some aluminum and powdercoat it. Pretty simple.

The best pic I had of the overall shape:

i am having a ton of trouble getting the wires towards the back of the intake to move. they are covered in the black plastic wire wrap and they do not want to move. plus i don't want to snap anything. what did u guys do? also, everyone says you only have to cut for the alt. bracket and the pcv on the pass side, but there is something (don't know what it is) just behind the alt. bracket that sticks way up. its some sensor or something. what did you do about that.

This is from a long time ago. The covers are long gone now.

still need answers for some of my questions above.
The only trouble I had on the passenger side was the alt. bracket and a little bit by the trans fluid dipstick. I'm not even sure what that part is on yours. I don't have anything there. Mine are pretty much flush with the valve covers.

what is this mystery piece?
Could it be the '96 version of this, disconnected from the intake?

That's the only thing I know of on that side of the intake that uses vacuum lines.

if i didnt have the traction control box atop the driver side valve cover, id probably put on these covers
how well do the covers clear the EVAP stuff on the pass side?

will the traction control box be in the way? Is there any way to relocate it?

Clean looking engine bay! I would have enjoyed them on my 93 but I sold them since they go for good prices on Fleabay!
