When a new engine has to sit?

Ok, so here is my issue. As some on here may know i was hit with a short notice deployment to the middle east and never had enough time to really prep any thing to sit. my motor was about 90% put together just before i left and i just have a few question to make sure nothing gets hurt after it sitting for 8-10 months.

First, every thing was put to gather up to the intake, did not have the intake bolted down. will i need to take the lifters back out and resoak then in oil?

Will i need to do any thing to the barrings in the motor?

Could the cam have been damaged from sitting with pressure on it from the springs/lifters?

i really just want to make sure i don't end up damaging it at all.

Mine sat for 6 months on the stand. I used Lucas assembly lube on all the bearings. I left the lifters out soaking in oil, cam was coated in a thick coat of lucas prior to putting in in the block. I would also wipe the cyl walls with ATF or WD40 (I used CRC Powerlube) prior to storage. I imagine the lifters would bleed down before anything bad would happen to the cam if it did at all. I placed the intake on to keep debris out then wrapped the engine in a bag.

Assembly lube should still be on everything internal, bearings, cam etc. Lifters would have bled down but no different than letting a car sit over the winter and firing back up. You should be fine.

Mine was on a stand from July 2007 through August 2010 first start up.

Just prime the oil pump/system before you install the engine while the intake is still off

If they're already on you could loosen the rockers so your not compressing the open springs. Otherwise like others have said you'll be fine, seal it up in a bag to keep small critters/spiders out. When you get back pour some oil over the valve springs and into the lifter bore and continue where you left off!
