well the search for a dd has seemed to come full circle... I've looked at g8 gt's.. turbo dsm's.. 3rd gen f-bodies.. hondas.. acuras.. g35's..
none of them have quite met my fancy or the money wasn't right. Today I was browsing facebook and seen a green 95 z28, t-top, auto with 160k miles, fresh tune up, new battery and new alternator for sale. Its got a 'mild comp cam' and valvesprings to match(~10k miles), cai and a slipping trans. the person wants $3000 and has another 4l60e out of a 96' impala ss that is supposedly good. I'm thinking if i could get him down to $2500 or less i'd jump on it. He has posted it twice on facebook with no bites and he has dropped the price $500 already. If I get it I'll sell the extra 4l60e and rebuild the current one with a few upgraded internals otherwise stock and drive it. Maybe get headers and exhaust down the road...

sit on it longer, i got my 94 camaro with no issues and bolt ons for less than that, we got @Ltconvert (http://ltxtech.com/forums/member.php?u=6566) 's car for 1100 bone stock with a bad fuel pump. .there are more treasures to be had. me personally, id keep looking. only way i would buy a car with internal motor work is if i knew the builder/owner well and trusted them

Idk... I got my TA (94GT) for 800 with a bad trans. It had about 20k more miles on it but still a big price dif. I think u can find a better deal.

holy crap... the local craigslist is ranging anywhere from $5000 to $10000 for lt1 cars and the cheapest ls1 car i seen was $7500 and it had 170k miles :face_shocked:

even the 3rd gen's are $3000+

I almost forgot about this post, the guy with the 94z that had some interior damage stopped responding, my guess is he sold the car

Anyways, an update on the search... I got a line on a 95' red formy for $900. Bone stock, down to the paper air filter
Cons: engine is locked up, the body needs paint, a small dent needs removed, windshield is cracked, stock 3 spoke salid shooters, gay exhaust tips...
Pros: trans is good, interior is fenominal... I'm talking like a 9.5/10 type interior. Dash pad is not cracked, no tear in any seats, fairly new front tires, 75% on back tires, its all there nothing missing or broken (besides the engine of course.
thoughts? he said its been sitting for 3 months, he bought the car and 3 days later it started knocking, overheated, and locked up on him. Feel kinda sorry for the kid...

edit: 20 minutes after original post, The kid will take $800 cash, I'm going to take a jack and some stands tomorrow and see if i can get up underneath it and check for rust.. I didnt see any in the 45 minutes i was there looking at the car today
