Thank goodness... no traffic was coming the other way...
He did not have a passenger...
And
He was wearing his seatbelt.
If any of those changed... this would have been a fatality....and I would not be sharing pics.

He was sitting on the rock pile on the phone upset that he just borrowed the car from a guy at work... I understand the concern of him saying "why me..." but he will realize how lucky he was soon enough...

Quite simple actually. Not paying attention... put right side tires off the road... over corrected to come out of the grass while on a slight left hand curve... went into a counter clockwise yaw and struck pole with passenger side door....and speed.

Agreed... but when not paying attention...and driving at unsafe speeds... no amount of training on veh control will help

I believe they actually do that in sweeden. They are required to put the car into a skid and control it. I think I seen it on top gear

He walked away..not a fatality...so there was no point in doing a full recon for speed.

Lucky that aged utility pole didn't snap.
It started... close inspection showed cracking on the opposite side... it will need to be replaced.
