So I have been on the fence about doing true duals or a y - pipe with two cutouts right off the headers. Trying to figure what ever one think going to be the best for a maybe weekend warrior and street racing car

Neither, single cut out on the piping back and a nice muffler.
Unless you have a +383ci motor thats on a 300 shot.

My vote is true duals. I've had both, cutout included, but nothing beats the sound of the true duals!
The down side is they are hard to put in. Getting the clearance, making sure the pipes are the right length, keeping them from banging the bottom. But once its done, its awesome!

Tried to make both 2.5" and 3" true duals with an x work on a stock height camaro sucked so bad, i convinced my father inlaw to buy a y pipe and hes never been happier than now. They hit everything. And were tucked up as tight as possible.
Want the same sound? Get a catless y pipe and a 12" bullet dumped. Itll scream, sounds almost the same but a little louder wot

I think the kooks true duals were like 1400.00 last time I looked and you still have to buy the panhard relocation kit

True duals are possible without scraping - JoeliusZ28 has true duals on his LT1 and I think he's slightly lower than stock, not much, and he doesn't scrape. I'm convinced I need to go with a true dual setup.

Mine tucks up great. Lowest part is the headers. That's all 3" ..car is decently low
Weather it tucks up good and looks nice is 100% dependent on the shop you are going to skills

My 3" Borla XR1's are bolted to the collector extensions, and dont' rub on anything.
Don't try and go over the axle......

So why do you not want to go over the axle

That was meant as a suggestion... not a "directive". It just simplifies things, if you can live with it.

Had a muffler shop do mine. Took them a picture of the Kooks system and asked if they could do it. True 3" with X-pipe and cut outs. I put the cut outs in. No clearance issues. No banging or rattles. ( Polly engine and tranny mounts). Race bullets to appear as high flow cat converters with 3" header flanges before it goes up over axles. Easy to remove and pull tranny if needed. I have 6" round 3" Dynomax ultra flow mufflers. Yes it sounds bad ass. You will need the upper panhard bar made for 3" duals. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/28/e9uvaqys.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/28/mahenete.jpg
