Ok, I have always been curious as to what was in my engine after I was told it was a 383 when I bought it. But the answer is here. Its a 385. 40 over SRP -16cc pistons, don't know the brand of the rods or crank but its 5.7" rods and a 3.75" crank. The bad. Poorly had ported heads and intake, Stock heads otherwise. Stock or lower then stock compression and I have been trying to tune it for ages and can never get it right. Well now I can. I am going to add 210cc AFR heads, a 235/243 .579/.597 @110lsa LE cam, and a EFI 24x swap. (I will be selling my obd1 LT1 stuff soon). I have a GM LT4 intake to go along with all of this. I have a question though. With a 55cc combustion chamber, what head gasket should I run to reach at least 11.3:1 compression with said pistons? I am reusing parts of this motor because they are in almost perfect condition. I am also wondering what oil pump to run. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
