Hello everyone, I'm just finishing a lt1 swap and off course in thinking of performance upgrade for next winter. I already got a cc503, I'll be freshening up the top end and timing set. I found a cheap set of aluminum heads local. I'm a machinist in a fab shop so I can check for flatness and cracks myself. I'll be getting the valve job and guides done at a performance machine shop. I want to port and polish my own heads I found a couple of guides online and a couple of YouTube videos to point me in the right direction. I know you can mess a set up pretty easily. Has anyone here done it. ? Have any " must read "guides or links to help out. Not trying for L.E. type of job , just enough to help her breath.

Porting is a science, there is terminal velocity, swirl, tumble, everyone just thinks Oh I'll just hog them out. I Have seen many port jobs have reverse affects, car ran slower. If you are doing minor clean up, then thats ok. Just stay away from the short side of the radius, you can clean up the pocket under the valve and redirect the valve guide..

Yep, ok.just minor stuff it the safest way. No major reconstructed or hogging. Got it. Thanks for the tip.

Yup. Just keep it simple. Take off the casting marks and blend everything clean and smooth. Youll be ok.
