My driver's side rear brake is sticking after I did a brake pad and lube job on all the brakes. After driving just a little bit the wheel is really hot and an excessive amount of brake dust is on the wheel. I went back and made sure everything was lined up right and lubed up more, but still to no avail...
Any advice?
Also could this gap be the culprit, I noticed it on both sides but this side a little more exaggerated,

Something about that looks wrong. Maybe you compressed the piston improperly. I would get your compression tool and try that again.

Yup... try compessing it again.... I bet it won't move.
I did the brakes on my blazer 2 months ago and had the SAME symptons... pulled it back apart. For some reason, the caliper had totally frozen... wouldn't budge.
It COULD also be a collapsed brake line... which was what we thought mine was going to be.

How would I check for a bad break line? If that's not it then it's most likely the caliper correct?
Sorry for my noobishness...

Most likely it's the caliper and not the brake line. These things are starting to get old and things like this are becoming more commonplace. Good thing is that calipers are cheap.

I would look into upgrading to the ls1 brakes. Since you need new brakes anyways. It's cheap and a MAJOR upgrade.

As far as checking the lines... I don't think you can.
I agree with the others... an LS1 upgrade wouldn't be a bad idea. Good way to make use of money.
I'd say LS1 brake swap and do stainless lines while you're at it.

Ok, well can someone give me links to good LS1 calipers or good ole LT1 calipers?
Thanks for the responses, btw.

Anybody?
Anybody?
I beleive you will need new caliper brackets, rotors, calipers, pads, redo the lines, etc.
Its very possible that there is a how-to write up on LS1tech somewhere.

Damn, I just thought I would need to replace the caliper and the pads are new, the rotors look ok... I guess I will replace the caliper and if it doesn't help then the lines are probably the culprit.

You need to have your rotors turned with new pads You might as well pick up a line for that side while you are in there , About 10-15 dollars
