I KNOW we dont have alot of c4s here... But Im hoping someone may know the answer.

You know how on the fbodies...its an upgrade to get rid of the steering shaft with the rag joint, in exchange for an LS shaft.....????? is there a similar mod for the earlier c4s?

My 85 has alot of play in the steering...and Id really like to tighten it up.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Funny, I posted this on CORVETTE FORUM...and instead of just getting an answer to the question I asked.... they are now going back and forth making other suggestions on how to fix the issue... arguing with each other... suggesting totally unsafe idea......

Not sure if this will works for c4, but i used it on my 93 fbody.

4th Gen Rag Joint Eliminator (1993-1997)

Eliminates the factory rubber-fiber rag joint which can degrade and introduce steering slop. This is especially true on cars with the additional heat generated by headers. The kit includes a CNC machined coupler made from 6061-T6 aluminum which is then anodized black for corrosion resistance, and four grade 8 fasteners. A set of detailed installation instructions is also included. Cost $37

Did a little reading just now, looks like you can get the rag joint eliminator for an F body and make it work with a couple slight modifications. Can't say 100 percent though as I don't have an 85 corvette to look at lol.
