That you consider going to drastic measures to get it?

I'm fighting a losing battle. The "car" portion of me simply has not been happy since I sold my twin turbo C5 back on November 18th, 2010. I've tried to be content with the Celica and the Trans Am, but the Celica just doesn't do it in the "go" arena (but she sure is purdy) and the Trans Am, it's just too damn bug prone. I honestly have finally admitted to myself that I don't think I'll ever be completely content with the T/A.

Some of you may have seen my facebook post about a 36 month plan. It's more like 36 months or less. The end goal is to get back into a Twin Turbo Corvette. Period end of subject. The plan to make it happen is two fold. A. Scrimp, save, quit buying useless crap, until I have the CASH to pay for a TTIX Twin Turbo Kit for a C6. Yes, this will take some time. Once I'm at the point of purchasing the turbo kit, the plan as of now is (and please don't crucify me) to unload BOTH the Celica and Trans Am in order to toss as much as I can at a good used early LS3 C6.

Mark my words, this WILL happen. The car guy in me needs to be happy and I'm not.

Until then, work WILL continue on the T/A. I'm tinkering away right now and once I get this valve seal issue figured out I'll be kicking the tires on it again. It will get finished, it won't be neglected (it'll probably be a home prep and maaco paintjob, but hey, it works), and it'll be right. Time will tell if this one gets the axe or not, but truthfully, having been in F-Bodies since 1996 without any gap, I'm a bit bored with them anymore.

Ok, moment of honesty is over. That's my game plan. Back to your usual programming.

I COMPLETELY underatand. I was never happy with my 4th gen. Always missed my High School car. So I found one and made it happen. You gotta do what makes you happy. I feel "home" again with my IROC. It feels good.

Good luck with that goal man, I will be rooting for you! Our buddy has a '99 FRC, and it is bad ass. Brett and I really need to sit down and come up with a budget so he can get himself into something. He wants a '04 GTO, and I would be so happy if he got one.

Man, GOOD LUCK!:claps:

This is tough to convey in a pure objective manner without sounding like a tech asshat.

But..

Rip that FAST XFI out, get a nice 24x setup on it, get a quality dyno tune and enjoy the car. I understand the draw to having an opti and what not, but the ability to have a car that drives near stock is unparallelled. You arguably have a much better engine than I do, so you gotta optimize what you have, the new cam is def gonna help and I would toss some lower gears in the back, 3.55 area.

In my humble opinion of course.

Sounds like a plan! I want a few other toys in my stable, but I know that I will have to cut some loose in order to get what I want.

Do what makes you happy, for sure!

A.......LOT, lol.

It's a 99, custom paint, shaved handles, custom molded duckbill spoiler, projector/clear headlamps (limited only sold in Japan, $1K headlights), JDM (I HATE THAT PHRASE, but it's true) tail lights, custom interior pieces (some VERY limited stuff), and oh, a 93 MR2 turbo motor swap. Among other things. I've done zilch to this car since the accident that caused the renewing with the paint and such as seen here in 2009.

I actually agree with you. If I hadn't already had the XFI when the 24x setup came out, I'd have gone 24x. But as it sits, there's just parts of the car I'm never going to truly be happy with. I feel crowded in the interior, and I'm extremely at home in a Vette. For as much as I like the LTx platform, and the 4th gen's, the combination of a Gen III+ coupled with the refinement the vette has to offer..........it's night and day. Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping all is copacetic with everything going back together on my motor, and that I'll enjoy the car more, but at the end of the day, my heart wants that two seater back.

Now I will say this. WHEN this time comes.........depending on my situation, the purple car may get to stay. I'd like it to as I've NEVER not had a Bird in my possession. But depending on the direction I go and how much is being spent will dictate that. For now, the plan is to forge ahead with the purple car.

in the possibility of the future, if you do decide to sell, id like a shot at purchasing the t/a. in the amount of time your looking at im looking at being in kinda the same place. finally able to save money now, curbed most of my impulse spending which was always causing me to be broke. only thing that is gonna stop me from a purchase of a vehicle or two i want in the next few years is if/when we go forward on buying our house.

i understand completely where you are coming from though. i miss my iroc every day, even though it was a slow pos with fred flintstone floors. something about it, cant explain it.
