Extreme Street Power Adder
Limited to quickest 16 qualifiers on a .400 Pro tree in a heads up format. Is open to all LT1, 4, 5 powered vehicles. All vehicles must appear to be stock bodied and stock appearing. Sportsman Ladder.
Single stage, single power adder only.
Engine: Heads must retain the factory 23 deg valve angle. Trick Flow 21 deg. heads permitted (PN TFS-30400008-M54). Aftermarket heads and converted small block Chevy heads will be permitted.
Only stock/stock ported intakes will be allowed (Edelbrock LT1 specific intake permitted).Welded intakes not permitted.
LS1 PCM permitted with 100 lb. penalty, aftermarket EFI allowed with a 200lb weight penalty. No progressive controllers, and no electronic controllers. Power adder:
Nitrous Maximum number of stages is 1. Nitrous nozzle or plate system only, . Direct port permitted with 150 lbs weight penalty. Limited to 2 fuel and 2 Nitrous solenoids. Purge must exit engine compartment, solenoids must be visible The use of agents other than nitrous oxide as part of, or mixed in, the system are prohibited. Nitrous oxide systems must use gasoline only (e85 permitted) for the fuel enrichment circuit. Limit 2 15 lbs bottles. Push systems not permitted. Nitrous water injection not permitted. NHRA permitted bottle heating only.
Supercharger Maximum D1SC, T-Trim without penalty, F1A allowed with a 150lb weight penalty Injection of any liquid, gas, or any other substance into the inlet or exhaust housing is strictly prohibited (including methanol injection). Supercharger compressor wheel must be constructed of cast or billet aluminum. Exotic material wheels prohibited.
Turbo (Single) Maximum size 76mm inducer, max T6 flange without penalty, 83mm maximum allowed with 150lb weight penalty. Turbocharger must be of conventional impeller and housing design and type. All air entering the turbocharger must pass through the turbocharger inlet. Injection of any liquid, gas, or any other substance into the inlet or exhaust housing is strictly prohibited (including methanol injection). Turbocharger compressor wheel must be constructed of cast or billet aluminum. Exotic material wheels prohibited. The tips of the impeller wheel may not be stepped, cut down, or notched to meet impeller tip-to-tip dimension. Reducers prohibited.
Turbo (Dual) Maximum 45mm inducer T4 flange without penalty, 60mm maximum allowed with 150lb weight penalty. Turbocharger must be of conventional impeller and housing design and type. All air entering the turbocharger must pass through the turbocharger inlet. Injection of any liquid, gas, or any other substance into the inlet or exhaust housing is strictly prohibited(including methanol injection). Turbocharger compressor wheel must be constructed of cast or billet aluminum. Exotic material wheels prohibited. The tips of the impeller wheel may not be stepped, cut down, or notched to
meet impeller tip-to-tip dimension. Reducers prohibited.
Tires: 30\" maximum height and 10\" maximum tread width for DOT bias-ply tires and DOT radials. 28\" maximum height and 10\" maximum tread width for all others(non DOT) with a 100lbs weight penalty (W compounds not allowed)
Suspension/ Chassis / Interior: Must have stock-style suspension. 4-links and ladder bars not permitted. Mini-tubs not permitted. Solid motor mounts allowed. No motor plates or anti-roll bars (aftermarket sway bars with solid end-links permitted). Must retain full OEM interior including both front seats (ie: headliner, carpet, sun visors, dashboard, console and all plastics forward of package tray). Aftermarket front seats permitted. Rear seats may be removed. Must have factory glass. Lexan windows not permitted. Must have working lights, wipers,horn, and current registration.
Exhaust System: may be replaced with tubular headers. Mufflers are required. Single cut-out is allowed in vehicles equipped with a factory style exhaust with the muffler behind the rear axle. True duals permitted,but must run through mufflers at all times. All exhaust must exit behind the front seats.
Transmissions allowed are one of the following (700R4, 4L60, 4L60E, 4L80E) without a weight penalty, TH 350/400 allowed with the use of an external cooler and will have a 100 lbs weight penalty.
Manual transmission receives weight break of 100 lbs. Torque converters not permitted with manual transmissions. Clutch-activated automatic transmissions (re: Clutch-flite) are prohibited
No trans-brake or two-steps allowed. Independent rear suspension receives 200 lb. weight break. Rear mounted batteries need to be mounted and vented per NHRA regulations Minimum race-weight limit 3,400 lbs.
Car and driver must meet NHRA certifications for the time the car is running., and must comply with all NHRA rules concerning weight ballast and ballast boxes.
