Im pretty sure the answer is obvious, however do I set the obvious answer aside because of the excellent customer service I was given through out the ordeal?
As many of you know, I have gone through many DYNASPARK related issues. I have a very long thread about it HERE:
http://ltxtech.com/forums/showthread.php?14576-Looking-to-buy-my-new-opti&highlight=bob+dynaspark
My most recent, and as of now, final opti had been sent back after a failure, and the failure has been aknowledged by BOB from DYNASPARK in this email;
Larry,
I received your Dynaspark back today. The first thing I noticed was a rattling sound which is never good. What I found when I opened the unit was that part of the rotor and broken and I am sure thats the cause of the problems. We have worked very hard to keep the quality of the units very high and when I have to try to explain this type of failure I can not. I can only ask what would make you happy? (1) I know beyond doubt if you want another unit you will get a new unit that will work!! (2) You can have a full refund. I hate to loose a customer and would really like for you to run our unit but I understand if you choose not to.
Thanks for your understanding!!
Bob Hogan
My question now is... do I remain loyal because of the exellent customer service and shelf the unit once its replaced.... or do I take him up on the refund (clearly more than I would even sell it for if I did shelf it, and not use it)?

Ask for an LS1 and be done once and for all.
I would ask for a replacement, unless you need the cash, you already invested in the product might was well get a decent unit from them. Tell them you will badmouth them to no end unless they ship you two so you have a spare to avoid costly downtime.

LOL.... NEVER.
Well, not NEVER, just not instead of my LTX.

Just as mentioned above, take the replacement unless you need the cash.

Ok... let me ask why tho? A 600.00 replacement sitting on a shelf? Honestly idk if i would ever install it even if the ac failed...

Sounds like that's your answer right there. I'd refund it if it were me, but I probably need the cash more than you do. But if you already made up your mind to never install it in place of the AC Delco, then you may as well get your $600 back out of it and use it for something else.

I chose other, but since you have leverage you could force them to become a sponsor here and set things straight with the company. Their product has potential over OEM and aftermarket units. Everyone knows that, but for whatever reason the quality isn't there. With the right amount of community support, maybe their quality could be restored.
If I were in your shoes, I'd just get the refund. You can buy two Delco opti's for the price of one Dynaspark and likely not have the issues you have experienced. There is no reason to own a car that you fear will leave you stranded especially when so much is invested. I know I chose other and am saying refund now, but I just wanted to chime in with a sponsorship. If there was an unbreakable opti, I seriously doubt half the people going 24x would do it - myself included.

Ugh. You're making me not want to put that Dynaspark I have on my car now. Just so ya know.
I'd probably take the replacement as a backup. Or take the money back and put it towards a 24x conversion. I don't know. I like pie.

My car will always have an opti... and as of now, I am very happy with the AC I recieved from Gail. Honeslty the car had never sounded so crisp.
As for leveraging sponsorship, The only way to do so would be for ME (personally, not my investment into the site) to take a monitary hit so that the site gains a sponsor, that we are having questionable product quality issues with.
It just sounds like more negatives that positives.. IDK

I feel bad with as stamd up as BOB is... but I gotta say... Idk how any other deal other than getting a full refund is smart. The Ac was a fraction of the cost even if it were to fail again...

Ask for a refund. Since the dynaspark is more expensive than an AC Delco opti (which works great) the money can be used accordingly towards a new AC unit when/if it fails.

I believe I will be going with the full REFUND.
$600.00 back, better than I could re sell it for, and I dont think I will ever be confident in using it as a back up.

Good call. Being the job that changing one is, I wouldn't want to have a lack of confidence in the backup either.

MY RESPONSE TO DYNASPARK:
"Bob,
I think at this time, I have to ask for the refund. You have been incredible, and your customer service has been TOP NOTCH, however the track record is kinda speaking for itself, and my confidence is just not there.
I will still tout your excellent customer service.
Please let me know what information you need to do the refund.
Thank You,
Larry Hanna"
BOB from DYNASPARK's response:
"Larry
I completely under stand. Just let me know were to mail the check to and I will send one this week.
Thanks for your support
Bob"
Going for the full refund.
