Raced a 2v 4.6 GT today

So I met up with a guy from town with a 2v 4.6 GT (the same one mpe331lx posted about running at the track) anyways I was low on gas but I figured it would be okay.

We do it from a 2nd gear roll, on the 3rd honk we take off, we are even through 2nd, I shift into 3rd and begin to pull on him... than I ran out of gas :doh:lol...so I got the car into the grass, had to get a gas can ETC.

I was pissed cuz I was very confident that I would have beat him if I didnt run out of gas. Mpe331lx has raced him in my car and beat it before..and I have to say I shift pretty fast its just the launching I am sucky at, so thats why I do rolls right now lol that and I have street tires and I spin like crazy..

anyways just wanted to share my story.

Congrats, what were his mods again? I know it had a loud mouth.

a LT1 is pretty much equal to a 4.6L so it comes down to the mods and the driver.

I ran a full exhaust 4.6L after I just got my car and he'd always gain an inch every time I shifted.

Yeah he knew , he wanted to run me to see how he would do with me driving this time lol... well he actually didnt turn around cuz as I ran out of gas, these people on 4 wheelers were riding by and he thought it was the cops so he got outta there real quick....at 1st I was like WTF is he doing leaving me like that?! lol but I talked to him after and he told me why he left..

It was pretty much my fault that she ran out of gas, lol. When we went to leave, Steph told me that she needed gas.I said " I'm sure it has enough". I thought that I was the last one that drove the car and it had a 1/4 tank. I forgot that she went for a little cruise that day......ooops!

When he took off, I was waiting on the side of the road, so it's not like he left her stranded.

When I saw her pull of to the side of the road and the door opened, I thought that she had broken somthing. So, the gas thing was more of an inconveniance than anything (and a dissapointment for Steph!).

Haha, I've learned never to really trust the gas gauge once you get about a 1/4 tank. I ran out of gas 2 times before the rebuild. I got lucky one other time when I started to sputter on the highway and I cruised off the exit without hitting the gas or brake, got really lucky with the lights changing green and rolled into the gas station sputtering the whole time lol.
