After more than 2 years, 9k miles, and many mods, I have sold my first bike. I don't know why I'm posting about it as you all don't really know me but I miss it already. I let it go at a steal of $1200 with only more car parts on my mind. So now I must share the girlfriends car, for another few months til I get my beast of a daily running. So with tax refund, bike sold, and next week I should get a bit of a bonus I will be looking good for the big $ buys needed for my build. It's all happening so fast in a way. Opti, LT headers, RR's, Tune, TB, finish painting the bay, and putting it all back together. Not sure if I'll drop the k-member or put it all back together the way it came out, from the top. Man it was a serious pain in the butt to get the tranny to bell housing bolts out. We used 4 foot of extensions from under the car to reach it, and then needed an impact to get em off.

Consider your self lucky you got 1200 for a non running 24 year old bike. You found a sucker.

No, it was running. Started right up as long as the battery had a charge, upgraded carbs with bigger jets, and K and N pods, rebuilt starter, new fork seals, new battery, new rectifier, battery to coil relay mod, custom painted rims, new differential seals, driveshaft splines lubed, only thing wrong was the stator(bike alternator) went out, and front brakes needed to stop leaking fluid but still would work somehow.

Mine was my pride and joy. Bought her new.. and put alot into her. Made 190hp to the rear wheel NA. I just lost my nerve to ride on the street.

Watxhing people drive (and crash) for a living...being the first person on scene to many fatal bike wrecks... It ended the fun for me. Know that ur moving on to another stepnin ur life...and ur still.in one piece to do so. Trust me... im not that guys that says bikes are evil or will.kill u... i love to ride... been ridin since 96. Its just tine to move on.

I sold my bike last spring to buy the T/A. I was planning to buy another bike (BMW R1200RT), but the kids talked me into buying another car. I used my bike mainly for commuting usually.

Latest bike I bought was a new 2010 Z1000. Have put 37,000 miles on it. Ride it more than I drive a car. Surprisingly enough this area gives respect to motorcycles. It's rare I get someone tailgating and the few times I've had someone change lanes into me they didn't see me and apologized profusely. No reason to get mad when on a bike because I know I'd lose every single time.

Wow so many bike guys. Yeah popo I know it's just another stage in my life but tough to see it go.

Here in FL, people are dicks to bikers. I used to get constantly tailgated, so many times I've been cut off on the highway to the point I was almost run off the road. One night a guy on meth or something caught up to me after I flicked him off for cutting me off and started violently swerving at me and yelling "you got a problem?" I don't go to that part of town anymore haha.

I like that style bike big griff, sport bikes are too congested. at 6ft 3in, I could ride my vulcan 750 from the passenger seat with my feet still on the pegs. Usually I did because it was most comfortable.

I'm with Popo. I rode last year to work and back but nothing like I used to. I got ran off the road in 2012 and I haven't been the same since. I bought her new in 07 with 3 miles.

Looks like a ton of fun in the sun, but potential pain in the rain lol. 3 miles is a test drive or 2 that's it.
People just don't look for bikes. I make sure I am clear before I make a lane change, because I know how annoying and dangerous having someone swerve in to your lane can be. Usually the statistics tell the truth, when someone would cut me off I'd pass em later and see them deep in a phone convo, or texting, or jamming out to music. Time and a place.

For a while there all I had was the bike to get around. The truck I had at the time was giving me issues so I didn't wanna drive it. I made it through 2 Florida winters with daily riding. Doesn't say much but hey, at least I stuck out the cold.

My bike was such a wimp compared to y'alls lol. Zohan I wished so badly that I had a 6 speed bike. I'd be at 5500 rpm out of 8k on the highway.
Gunter if I had the money I'd be looking at your bike lol.

Bikes are a whole different world. Honestly I'd rather be tucked on a bike at 160+mph than getting lucky. Everything just melts away and your problems even if just for a moment are behind you. Unless there red n blues then problems just got started lol. But I've regretted selling every one I've had especially my last. I literally felt like I was having withdrawals like some kind of crack addict lol.

05 r1. No joke would pull 105mph in 1st gear stock at like 150-160 HP I believe. All I ever changed was k&n filter and race baffled exhaust.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/23/ravedahy.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/23/eba6apym.jpg

Touche....:D I'm still more of an "aggressive" rider, but not overly, especially in the city. Just feels safer to me if it makes any sense. Looking back now that I'm a father is like "was I mentally ill?" Had there been a patch if gravel here or car there might not be here. I've been down once and thank god not a scratch but that was when reality kind of hit. luckily they have a couple road tracks around but holy crap are track days expensive. $200 a day at least.

A V twin is way dif than a rice rocket tho. Haha. My rev limiter was at like 4k or some shit. Cant remember. It was like driving a diesel. Haha

Zohan damn that's a low red line! Lotsa torque though.

You went 10 on a stock bike, and go over 100 in first? All the money put in to our cars for performance and fast speeds, and for 8k or less you can have a crotch rocket that will also be faster than the car. Unless you have flash's WS6.
