Sooo - it has been a LONG while since I have posted updates on my car. Between grad school and finding a job - time has been tight. Life has finally settled down and it was time to get the beast on the rollers and turn some solid numbers. For those of you not familiar with my build, cruise over to my build thread:

http://ltxtech.com/forums/showthread.php?16047-BadBlackZee-s-383-HR-Build

Tuning was done by Josh over at Lashway Motorsports in Fort Lauderdale, FL on their Mustang Dyno (some of you may have seen their facebook post of the car). Car had issues on the dyno at the beginning. I brought the car in with all stock sensors hooked up and reading - car was on 93 octane. First runs yielded massive amounts of knock to the point that Josh did not feel comfortable taking the car past 3,000 rpm. After discussion, we opted to throw 112 (50/50 mix with 93) octane fuel in the car, disabled the knock sensor and do some old school tuning. Run after run he kept adding in a bit more timing till we reached a solid number. On the final tune write, the car hiccuped and we bricked the PCM :( (I think Josh had it with Lt1s at that point). Next day, I brought a new PCM and tuning was complete. Dyno sheet and video is below (sorry you have to deal with portrait style iPhone video - that's all I had on me at 9:00 p.m.):

Numbers on dyno sheet were corrected but that run yielded a max of 452hp/440tq. Car made max power at 6,300 rpm. I was extremely impressed with how much torque the car made at only 2,500 rpm - 350 ft. lbs!

Needless to say, the car runs amazing and is an absolute monster on the street. Many credits given to Josh at Lashway for taking his time on this thing. I wanted to show what an N/A LT1 can still do and I would venture to say that the LS folks at Lashway were pretty impressed :)

A final thanks goes out to 1badz and 95ImpySS for helping me put this car together and get it to the point that it is at now. Next up, a rear and some tires!

This car is a testament to what a properly built car should be. Glad you're happy bud, you deserve it!

Nice numbers! Didn't read through the whole build thread. Did you stick with the hydraulic roller cam? What specs did u go with?

Thank you all for the accolades - I will try to post a start up vid with new tune if you all are interested. Car sounds nuts with compression and race fuel :)

The car is an absolute monster on the street. Six speed makes it a ton of fun. Still full weight, stock PCM, opti - Even has heating and A/C that might be charged in the future. We will see

Stuck with a hydraulic roller that was spec'ed by LE: Bullet Racing 244/252 .612/.612 110 LSA. Went with ported TFS 21* heads and running 12.7:1 SCR (9.1:1 DCR)

I'd love to see what kind of trap speed you'd pull with that thing.

Very nice numbers! I have a very similar LE cam (Lunati grind) 243/251 .614/.621 110, in my 385, with E85 and 13.4:1 static, 11.8 dynamic. The only thing I'm missing from my build is the LE 21* heads and intake (build $ ran out), which I'm getting next year. This makes me very optimistic :). 452 on a Mustang dyno would be close to 500 on a Dynojet I assume?

Could very well make close to 500hp on a dynojet - that depends on what parameters were input into Lashway's Mustang Dyno. At the end of the day, a dyno is a tuning tool - I will own the HP numbers but its more important that my A/F was right and it picked up a good 50hp from when I brought it in...

Thanks to you - you spec'ed the cam and ported the TFS 21* heads for this thing. Car runs very strong! You can add it as another success on your list...
