View Full Version : Opinions on a hood change later on?

So just for kicks, we were looking around and found this hood. Monika likes the look of it and I like the fact if we cut out the slats and make them functional, it'd probably help a great deal with the under-hood temps on this thing (would help prevent more of that surging issue it has in warmer weather, it's been fine all winter so far though thanks to the cold). Wondering what you guys' opinions on saving up for a hood like this and getting it painted in the same Grand Sport scheme. Would definitely turn some heads at car meets LOL - I'm imagining some liking it and the purists flipping their shit haha.

Lol nope not real, a well done clone though, which is why I'm open to this idea. I love the slats look myself, and part of me secretly enjoys pissing off the Corvette elitists around here in Dallas lol.

Im not a huge fan for the "gs" simply cause it would take away from the "gs" look.
LTXtech.com is my drug.

And I get the point of maintaining the stock GS look, it's the whole draw of the car to everyone else at car shows and such. Just can't get over the slatted look for heat extraction, if there were a WS6 hood with those same slats, I'd be on it like shit on Velcro lol.

I think I'm going to have to play around with Photoshop and try to get a good idea of what it'd look like painted haha.

If I'm not mistaken, I maaay know of a slatted ram air hood for our Firebirds that could possibly be coming to the market within the next year or two. :)

:whistle::whistle::whistle: It's not my product or place to say, but I've heard it's in the works. I'll let the creator chime in on his own if he so desires. But if/when it is complete, I'll be first in line to get one lol.

My sources say that there will be a prototype done this spring. These will be carbon fiber, by the way.

Not sure, to be honest. I know that it's being made and I was given a semi-vague general description, but I have not seen any drawings or renderings of it yet. I'm just as psyched about it as you guys, though.

Hahaha, actually it won't be originating from Texas, so I'll have to have one shipped to me as well, but I'm closer to the maker than NJ is. ;)
