Starting my first supercharger build and I was looking at how the instructions have you punch a hole in the oil pan . I thought about drilling a hole and installing a bulkhead fitting for the return line. Drilling a hole in the pan is not a problem because the pan is not on the motor . Does anyone have any better ideas on how to run this line?

yeah the reason they want you to punch it is there is less metal shaving than drilling ( with engine in car.) i welded two bung fitting on my pan for oil return. there 5 bucks each and drill a hole and weld them.

I had a npt bung welded in my pan. You could get a an nipple welded on. But if it ever gets damaged you would have to cut it off and have a new one put on.

I'm under the impression that the reason you punch a hole vs. drilling is so there's more metal to tap threads into (since the metal bends in). Tapping the hole will cause a lot of metal shavings as well but be sure to pack the tap with grease to catch them if the pan is on the motor.

I thought about using a bulkhead fitting with a nut and gasket on both side and put a braided line to the supercharger.

I would weld fitting in if it is apart I would have an line made up if possible. The stock line can be a pain to remove. ( stock being one that came with kit.
