Well I came home yesterday to shovel some snow and get my truck out of the garage to plow the street. Only to find out it burned up sometime Thur night. Snowplow included. Complete loss. Appears my engine block heater shorted out while it was plugged in. Didn't burn the garage down but everything is black inside ceiling is toast. What a mess. Don't even know where to start. I'm just glad nobody was around to get hurt and I that have a detached garage. Thank god my other baby is sitting in a storage unit for the winter. Now I sit and wait for insurance adjusters. This SUCKS!!!!

Holy crap, that sucks dude. I saw a Silverado burn down once from a guy that had a audio company install a system and they did a crap job.

Omg.. It looks pretty new. Manufacturer defect?

That couldve destroyed everything!!!

DID it get extinguished or did it go out by itself?

Went out by it self. I think it suffocated it self out. Probably a good thing I didn't see it happen. Would have made it worse by opening the doors.

Thanks for all the replies and support. What really sucks is I had built just where I wanted it. Ran real good and could haul anything I wanted. It will be money lost in upgrades. Just thankful no one was hurt. Material things can be replaced. This puts my supercharger build for the Camaro on hold for awhile. Big mess to sort out and clean. Just hope insurance companies don't screw me. I don't wish this nightmare on anyone.

Man I'm sorry to hear this but like everyone has said it could've been much worse. Hope the insurance company doesn't screw you too bad. Was it a GM installed heater or aftermarket?
