Well, today was a clusterfuck. We get to our appointed place at our appointed time, and no title agent. 15 min go by and we call and they say "oops, the documents aren't here yet." Ok, whatever. so an hour and a half late they finally show up (we have a cosigner who lives out of state so they signed yesterday then overnighted back to us today). We get everything signed, cool. Then on the way back to the house we are moving out of, I get a call from my loan officer asking how everything when because the title officer didn't call back like she was supposed to, and didn't call me either to let me know if it got filed or not. so now we own the house, but no keys yet because we are waiting on the filing. We are pretty sure it filed though, the loan officer told me that his closer would have gotten something back if it was incorrect, so hopefully we can get keys tonight sometime. Worst part is I have to leave in an hour to meet someone, which shouldn't be a problem because I should have had the damned keys hours ago!

But, we got everything signed and, as far as I know, everything is filed. So essentially we are done.

Sounds about like a house sale goes, somebodeys always late and there's so many people involved no ones on the same page! Sounds like you got it done, and having paitence on the day of signing is tough to do. Congrats on the new purchase and welcome to the joyful experience of home ownership!!

Yeah, we did get it done and we picked up the keys tonight. We have all of the utilities in our name so this weekend we will be moving in/getting the appliances that we need and getting settled as quick as possible. The Mrs. wants a dog something fierce.

Congrats! We had similar problems on our closing day. Seller was an hour late, attorney was late, by the time we signed and the file clerk got to the register/deeds office, they had taken off half an hour early. So our Thursday closing turned into a Friday finalization.

Moved about 85-90% this last weekend, got internet today. Pics to follow as we make progress on the piles and piles of boxes currently inhabiting 3 rooms of the house and a large portion of my garage

Making headway in the battle of the boxes. Got a lot of construction ahead of me though for shelf space is rather limited at the moment. Just finished up a project tonight to put shelves in the kitchen, just gotta trim it and paint/stain, whatever the wife decides.

We are now 99% moved, only got another truck load or so to go (not trailer load, just the truck) and some clean up to do and we will be free of the other house. Should have something to show before too long, making steady progress getting things cleaned up and organized.
