When did they start defaulting your selling settings to international shipping via US shipping center? I didn't notice it on an auction I had going for a set of higher end Harman Kardon surround speakers.

First auction, guy wanted me to ship to Oman. Zero feedback, member since 2009. I told him no, he said "that's ok, I've got a US address I ship through, ship it there, they'll forward it." Didn't make reserve thankfully.

Relist. Guy bids, hits reserve, says he wants me to ship them to Qatar. Zero feedback, member for under 6 months. WFT?!?!?! I look CLOSELY at my auction and see it's designated for international shipping. I tell the guy sorry, ebay defaulted that, it's US only. Same story as above. I ended up having a buddy shill bid it and win so I could get out from under this guy now because I am convinced it's a scam.

Third time, relist. FINALLY found the fucking setting where it defaults to international shipping. Turned that shit off, listed, checked it via another auction listing I started just to see, and it defaulted back! Ridiculous!

Don't get me started on the 9% to ebay and 3% to paypal fees. It's crazy anymore, but they only realistic way to reach a LOT of people.

The fee do suck but I have been having very good luck selling my old toys. Only way to reach an audience that wants used toys that are willing to pay better than yard sale prices. The international center is good when you do get a legit sale. A lot of my toys have gone to Europe without a hitch. I can see how it could be used for scammers.

The fees, setup, and requirements to get money instantly. even if you have been a buying/selling member for years with 100% feedback sucks.

My wife just tried Amazon to sell some of her old book, thier fees are insane too.. I agree MeanTAm I have a perfect track record and i feel likethey could cut the good ppl a break, but that aint gonna happen.. I dont have much left to sell and I will make a decnet profit when it is all done. I just had a guy try to scam me literally 20 min ago. He wants stuff but does not want to go thru eBay and he is overseas.. hell no. I have had to use eBay for disputes with a few sales and it worked out each time so I wont make a deal without them... but inevitably I wil get screwd by a buyer someday.

Yeah, I have a perfect track record of well over a decade with them, and no perks.

I thought about going ahead with the international shipment center thing, but man, have you read all the requirements it takes? It's crazy. Pass on that. I just prefer to not deal with it. Only stuff I ship out of country are line locks on a case by case basis.
