I know that it's not an LT1, but I wanted to share what some of the competition is running:innocent:

I made a couple passes in a friends (nx01gt) 01 GT at BMP's Runday Sunday today.
The car has minimal mods for power.
N/X wet kit jetted for a 100 shot. .
JLT CAI
O/R X pipe
SLP LM1 cat back
TR6 plugs
Stock tune (used sct tuner to raise rev limit, turn off MIL, and cal speedo only))
4.10 gears
Lakewood struts and shocks
4 cyl ft springs
Zoom Clutch
Weld Draglites and slicks (I bolted mine on the car)
A couple medium sized stickers worth atleast 5HP each and a big one that has to be worth 10, lol

I did not reach the goal of running a high eleven, but I got pretty damn close. I wish I had a little more seat time in it and was able to make some more passses to get the feel for the right tire pressure. BUT, the place was packed with well over 200 cars and bikes and we sat in the staging lanes for HOURS, between runs I usually run 13lbs in the slicks on my 96 and I have gotten a 1.43 60 FT.

I probably should have tried 14lbs on this car. It bit hard on the initial launch then had a slight loss of momentum (I cant call it a bog) and recoverd quickly. The passes felt very good. I shifted my ususal quick shifts but did not powershift it (was a little concerened with the clutch). I knew it was a strong run due to having to kill the spray a little before the traps (It has a window switch, but I don't trust it).
I wanted to make an N/A pass and see if it had a 12 in it (which I am almost positive that it did), but did not get to due to the large amount of cars and bikes there.

There are a few locals that have told the owner "he would be lucky if the car hit a high 12 on the spray and that there is no way that his car would be able to pull the front tires":

The Car obviously has the potential to run an 11. The next time I run it, I am going to try my best to get the 60FT down to a a 1.6 , which should put it in the 11.7-11.8 range. If not a 1.7 should allow me to atleast hit an 11.99999.

BTW, like mostly any car that I run at the track, I pulled out the passenger and rear seat, along with the jack and spare for a little weight savings;)

I also met one of the members on here, Louvit, nice meeting you!

Car looks good leaving...lifting the wheels with only a 1.8x 60ft is pretty good. Typically takes a 1.5x or better, from what Ive seen.

Congrats!

Good runs for you Phil, but IMO he will never run those #'s himself.

It's funny you only mustered 1.8 60's with the recent suspension work on the spray, because he was rambling on about pulling 1.9's on just motor way before the suspension work, when I waxed that ass with a stock LT1.

Not knocking you Phil, as you can obviously drive to every bit of the car's potential, but he can't and really needs to stop acting like a ricer.

The car has a much better 60 in it than a 1.8. You can clearly see in the vid, it noses over after the initial hit. I just needed a couple more passes to find the sweet spot for launch rpm and tire pressure.

As for driving it to its potential, i was not powershifting it, (the stock 3650 (or the t45 if it is an early 01) has a history of breaking the 10 spl input shaft and shift forks. I was just doing my usual "quick as shit shifts", lol

I know that I can get an 11.7-11.8 out of it exacly as the car sits, will he? Probably not until he gets the shifting down pat, but he's getting better.

Here is a shitty vid of the 12.1 pass: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=1wwlLQf3YzQ"]YouTube
I hate runday sundays because they dont show the times!
BTW, the car in the other lane is 89supermod, it has a blown 4.6 2v and some spray running 9s

lol I think the car would look much better without the big GT decal on the back window, the huge mustngs on the doors and without the steeda banner on the windshield but the kid says he likes those decals..

Think about the reliability compared to your 10 year old LT1 car.

Running the times in your sig, you will smoke the average bolt on S197 GT (05- current mustang)

Suspension/Tires.

And weight!

A 2v GT only weighs about 3300 lbs stock (3270-3317 depending on options), and we had pulled about 200 lbs out of it, so the race weight was around 3290.

I plan on building a low powered, light weight 2v car. With an aluminum block and a SHITLOAD of weight reduction, I can get one down to right around 2650. So with a raceweight of 2840, it will ET very well for the amount of power that it will make(and suprise the hell out of a few ls1's, Cobras, and many others:devil:)
