Anybody thats running one? I currently have a magnaflow on there right now and it does have a pretty good tone, I just want it to be louder. I have a set of headers on their way and I was thinking of just running a 3 inch flowtech afterburner dumped at the axle. I havent really found much about them on lt1s. I just wanted a little bit of input before I get one.

I ran a set on my true duals, years ago. Using an X-pipe, they sounded damn good and clean. Not raspy or cackle.

Okay, good. I had one of their crossflow style mufflers on my 95 v6 a few years back and it sounded pretty decent for a v6, so I assumed it would be even better with this car.

Your magnaflow will get significantly louder with long tube headers. I'd stick with it until you put the headers on then see if you still want to change it.

Okay. I actually got a set of bbk shorties and y pipe for stupid cheap. I know the long tubes would be a better option, but I couldn't pass this up. Plus they are way better than manifolds. Yeah I'm hoping the headers just add a little more growl.

Well I got the muffler welded up. Its basically right on the end of the y pipe right now. I still have to get a turndown welded on, but I do love the sound. Theres just a little too much resonance since its coming straight out of the muffler, but the plus is there is no rasp at all that I can notice.

Glad you like the sound. Even with a turndown it is going to resonate a ton. Any type of dump under the cabin of the car is going to resonate like crazy.

Yeah I figured it would still have quite a bit, but I just want to cut down on it a little bit. I'm really surprised at how much meaner the car sounds with full exhaust. I did feel a slight drop in low end with this setup, but it does feel much better up top.

You could angle that turndown at about a 45 degree angle towards the passenger side too.

Yeah I might have to do that to deflect as much resonance away as I can.
