Not a big fan of the fast and furious series but still pretty surprised to see it. I guess he was riding in a freinds car when the freind lost control of the car hitting a tree then light poll killing both of them.

I like the f&f movies... for nearly 13 years they have been pumping out (now 6) movies... And although starting a ricer revolution, have done alot for the car scene. Idk whether to believe this stuff when i see it. Its like someone is always announced dead...then a day later its up that it was a hoax. No disrespect if he did die...but I find it odd only days before the release of the dvd/blu ray. Guess Im just a susp person.

Sad to see him leaving behind a kid and family. It shouldn't matter whether you liked or disliked a movie series no one forced you to watch. RIP.

I saw something earlier In the day saying he had died in a car crash and suggested it had to do with ff7. I,thought that was a hoax because of the mtv was reporting it not a credible news network.

I cant imagine how fast the werw going to make that car look that
Unrecognizable.

I went on my first date with my now wife (highschool sweethearts :-) to see the very first fast and the furious. Sure the movies were fictional and a little ricey but like popo said it did more for the car world than any movie series has ever done, it got alot of kids tools for Christmas instead of some other worthless crap. He was a great actor and from what I have always heard he was a great person. So sad

I'm sure high speeds were involved. Hopefully no alcohol. After just leaving a charity event, but they could have been serving alcohol there. Its a sad thing to see. Yes a lot of the car info in the movies was off, but I still thought they were fun to watch. My heart goes out to his 15 year old daughter this close to christmas. On a side note that's the same porche that ryan dunn from jackass wrecked in and caught fire. And I took an asian girl on a date to Tokyo Drift one time. Haha

It looked like a nice wide road with a slight right hand curve, looked like a area to play around in a good bit, I just cant get it in my head that hes gone. Him and Vin Diesel were supposed to be unstoppable (in your mind anyways) I know shit happens but man it sucks to see a role model die, I mean damn he was just at a charity event for havens sake!

I think from any incident like this people should take something away from it. To me it is don't let anyone in my car when im pushing it. I also would say don't ride with someone pushing their car no mater how much u trust them.

I just read this on line.. wow....

"Craig Stachewicz I met paul at the Honolulu airport in 2002.
I had no idea who he was but he noticed me sitting alone in the airport bar. I am in the military and I looked like it. I had a short haircut and had a bag that was green.
He asked to sit down next to me and asked about me and thanked me for my service. He bought me a beer and I had no idea who I wsd talking to. Until several people asked quietly for his autograph. ..he did so without any inconvenience to him. After a few of these interruptions of us talking I asked him if he was famous or something. He looked at me and said well not really but I did a few movies. He mentioned them and it hit me...wow this is the guy from varsity blues and skulls.
He said nothing of being famous but he wanted to know about me and that he so badly wanted to be in the soldiers we once were young... he said he would have done it for free. He just wanted to thank the vet and playing a vet is a way he could do it.
Anyway we talked for about 45 minutes and he had to board his plane. He was a hell of a nice dude.
Thx for your service paul.
RIP"

Yep, I might do a little 123 pull but Ive never been over 100mph with a passenger and I NEVER ride as a passenger, EVER! I try not to even ride as a passenger on the interstate because everyone I know sucks so bad at driving and doesnt pay attention to things around them.
The driver was a race car driver so that makes me think something went wrong with the car or something maybe jumped out infront of them? who knows....

I think im gonna stick to burnouts and slow speed drifting and get a rollcage/fire extinguisher

I will admit im guilty of screwing around on the local highways, laaaaaaaaate at night, but i never do it with anyone riding with me. One time i had one person with me and thats my buddy with the cobra, but it was at his consent, and i lifted at 120. I stopped going on alot of the local cruises because of the dumbasses that would attend and think it was a damn race everywhere. If i go for a cruise its with a few very close friends that i know i can trust to drive well and react accordingly if something were to happen. I dont ride with anyone either.

I really feel bad for both him and roger, i seriously believe something happened wierd, like tire failure or they hit a dip and skipped sideways. Hearing that rogers 8 year old son was trying to get his dad out really bothered me.

If You look on google earth you can really see how long and wide that road is and even if it was 300 yards from the event that's enough room for that car to get up to some serious speed well in the triple diget speed. They also crash right before the 90 deg right hand turn so maybe he hit the brakes to hard ? Who knows I'm sure there will be Servalance video pop up in a few days from some of those factory's.

Yeah, we all know cars don't just magically explode into flames when they wreck out like in the movies. Especially not without some gas leak that catches fire and then slowly catches the rest of the car on fire, but I'd think that would give them enough time to crawl out of the car, depending on if they were conscious or not.

Seems strange that the little light pole laying on the ground cut that car in half. Am I missing something?

AdamG
12-02-2013, 01:16 PM
I dont think its that odd a little light post cut a car almost in half. Its easier to cut into something with a smaller object then a larger one. Look a a cheese cutter it uses a really really thin wire. The wire cuts through the cheese easier then a knife which is thicker. As for catching on fire It happens. Sometimes it doesn't take much and when you are pushing a car hard it gets the engine really hot. If you look you can see the fire starting in the rear of the car. My guess would be that the damage cause hot parts of the car to come into contact with flammable materials like plastic engine covers. its possible the fuel pump was still supplied power and dumped fuel into the hot burning engine bay. Who knows to be honest though.

In terms of the driver loosing control. It might have been a mechanical issue. Maybe the driver was star struck and trying to show off to an idol and pushed it just a little to far. I remember when Jeremy Clarkson was test driving a car on top gear and suddenly out of know where lost control of the car and it shook him up pretty good and he is an experienced driver. Sometimes even the best push it just a little to far and lose it.

Keep in mind this is a rear engine car built for speed not necessarily safety. Not to mention they apparently hit a tree before the light pole. Also most of the pics I've seen are post body removal so there is no tellin what the fd ripped apart.

popo8
12-03-2013, 01:06 AM
Ive investigates severalncrashes where vehicles have beem ripped in half. The most memorable os a fox mustang that slid sideways into a tree. the weight of the rear end wrapped one way as the engine took the front end the other way... clearly a fatal or i would post up pics, i had figured that the impact speed was 80mph (always figured low for.benefit).

You can see the initial impact starts with a white coolant looking smoke then the car starts to burn, If either of them would have been conscious and mobile (witch I highly doubt) they would have had time to get out of the car before the flames got them. im gonna say paul was dead when they hit the pole, and the driver more than likely was.

Totally agreed and I don't think it's rude at all. I'm sick of this coddling culture where everyone is protected no matter how much shit they stir up. Actions reap consequences and she's certainly getting what's coming to her for publishing that shit. This is one thing I love about the Internet, because it's almost impossible to just be an anonymous "keyboard warrior" anymore. With the current amount of technology being so abundant throughout the nation and younger and younger generations growing up with it, there are a lot more people from all age groups who know how to run IP traces and hunt down personal info of someone who pulls a stunt like this. People don't think too much about that and still try to use fake names online to say w/e they want, but anything can be traced back and pinpointed, especially since she was so kind as to post where she lives and her email address. The only thing I hope happens now to put the icing on the cake would be to have that "feminist" journalism site that published it DDOS'ed and shut down for good. They tried to back up her "opinionated post" in the backlash of comments and also still show no apology whatsoever for the article in the one I just posted above. So fuck em, they deserve to go down in flames with her.

AbsoF'inglutely! I couldn't agree more with you. Journalism is NOT what it used to be. It's not about what you think or what you wish it to be, it's not about your agenda...it is or should be about the facts period! To me this is just a reminder of why I drive the way I do. Im the person that paces people at the right distance. And drive like a old man. On the 8th it will be the 12 year anniversary of when I almost died in car wreck. Because my friend was speeding and showing off.

There isn't a day where my jaw with a metal rod, shoulder, neck, or headaches doesn't remind me of it.

Im a big believer in keeping the speed on the track where it's safer and more controlled.

Or atleast on a wide interstate or highway with no big drop offs, culverts, guard rails, or trees close by. And of COURSE NO TRAFFIC!!
Even then I rarely go passed 3rd gear when really getting into it and thats right at 100mph. A couple weeks ago I actually hit the highest speed I have ever went in any car and I buried the 150 speedo in my car and was at about 5K in 5th gear....... I will NEVER do that again, no cars around at all and a VERY LONG STRAIGHT FLAT ROAD... and it was still to scary for me in this old bird.

I watched them. I didn't really like them not really sure why I watched them just one of those things they were on tv so I was like F it ill watch it then after you watch 5 of them and the 6th one comes out your like well I watched the rest Im bored might as well watch number 6 lol. But he was in a bunch of movies. Hell he was in Flags of our fathers and I love that movie and honestly I didn't even know he was in it till the other day. It wasnt like he was a bad actor. most of the other movies he was in I liked. I dont really associate movies with actors/actresses unless its just bad acting if its a bad plot why blame the actor or actress?

I honestly dont understand why other people have to hate others they dont even know. I'm guessing that the reason people like the one that authored that article do it because they have some type of problem with their selves and its a way of deflecting from that problem in an attempt to make them selves feel better. I heard a story about how Paul Walker was in a jewlery store and a person in the military was trying to buy his fiance a wedding ring and could afford it because it was 10g. So walker paid for the ring but told the store not to tell them who paid for it. They just started telling people since he passed away it was on Yahoo News.

People were watching them do donuts. Heard a loud pop like a tire blew and lost control. Police were guessing 75-80. So maybe it was more of a drift...

Making you silky smooth...

If you can knock a light pole over and halfway uproot a tree from a drifting crash then I have gotta see this drift!
they may have been doing 80MPH on impact but they would have slowed down quite a bit from skidding before the crash, so a 100+Mph drift would be insane and very very reckless. (obviously)

Hey guys - I removed all references to that "5 reasons to be glad paul walker died" article.

It's literally a scam.

They're literally just posting the most heinous thing they could think of to get everyone riled up to click on their links and go to their site. What they're really doing is raking in the money from advertisers on the site who are paying them for every view the ads get. A local facebook group that I'm part of figured it out when they posted an article from the "lady" who is getting "death threats" where she said her windshield got bashed by a whole bunch of angry F&F fans.

Turns out the image she posted was from a news article posted awhile back. It's fake. The whole thing is fake. It's just a troll.

Not sure if this exactly counts as "on topic," but it is sort of related. Granted I hope the people who make these movies are smart enough to know that if they actually do this, they will kill the entire fan base of the series...

Thats extremely "INSULTING" to pual, I dont think ANY of the current actors would continue if that actually happens.

Also on another note, someone mentioned something about a trail of power steering fluid behind the car at the crash scene... If thats true then I can easily see how he lost control if it sprayed on the left rear tire going around that right turn, and the spray of fluid everywhere wouldn't have helped once it caught on fire.
I also though I heard that the car had electric power steering but I really have no clue.

This was pretty cool, there's a few cars I'd love to have in this collection, but you can tell he definitely had a preference for Saleen Mustangs and M3s... lol
