So I picked up this 97 Formula with 109,995 miles to use for parts for my '96 WS-6 Formula. But since it was too nice and mostly everything worked, I decided to save it. So I've put about 500 miles on the engine rebuild, which also included new radiator, hoses, belts, wires, plugs and few pump assembly.

I already have Corvette Wagon Wheels, yes Wagon Wheels. They are Painted black with Clear and with almost new tires were what I considered to be a good deal. The tires alone would have cost almost double what they cost me.

So today my son (15) and I decided to give the Formula some attention and fix the broken left marker lens. Minor problem, the screw holding in the lens was stripped. So this is my son's first repair.

Those wagon wheels look good in gloss black. Any pics of them on? Congrats on his first repair...does he want one for his first car?

He got to drive it the first time Thanksgiving morning. I think all along he's thought he was going to get the 96 WS6. He's hunting Craigslist now, so who knows if we find a good deal we might add on to the team.

Looked at a 96 V6 Firebird last week, the guy wanted $1700, but it was really rough. It had a aftermarket Ram Air hood, graphite interior and t-tops. It supposedly ran, but the console was torn up and the shifter was apparently not working correct. Paint was terrible, dash with normal cracks. He turned down my offer.

I haven't put them on yet, since I didn't want the shop doing the engine to mess them up. So I'm having them do the first oil change this week and maybe by this wekend I can get the wheels on.

So how cheap are you talking when you save one? I need a reasonable mechanic.

Thanks, he's never really showed an interest. Now that he thinks he'll be driving this Formula, he is reading LT1/LT4 engine books now. I have a WS-6 intake in bound for the 97 and that will be my next swap. I hope that lights the fire under me to get my 96 Formula back on the road too.

Yeah his profile says Jacksonville, he was talkin about his ws6 formula. And I always remember that side marker I never fixed. With that funny scratch to the left of it!
