Exhaust manifold bolts

A co worker of mine has a impala with the lt1 in it the last 2 bolts on the exhaust manifold broke not sure how but they aren't there anymore the whole car is stock I told him to go to a junkyard and pull a head and just do that is there a easy way to get the bolts out or is it better to swap the head I'll try and point him here also

I got mine out by welding a bolt to the part left in head. Be sure to be ready to with a ratchet or impact to get it while still hot. Did it with head removed. Not sure if could get to it in car.
