okay guys, im planning on tailoring my camaro back home this winter break (im 2 hours from home at school). im planning to do something with the suspension. Now what im after is I NEED TRACTION. ive been taking it to the local track and when i launch (4k stall th350 swap) i just spin, i mean bad. im running a 28/10.5 slick on the back. now suspension for the most part is stock. my torque arm is re-inforced and the angle is changed a little bit, i took my front sway bar off and that seemed to make a pretty big difference, it really keeps that nose up. now i plan on re-enforcing my lower control arms and have been looking into lower control arm relocation brackets (id build my own), will that make a difference? what are you guys doing on a BUDGET. im not looking to go to coil overs, i aint got that kind of money. like i said ima build my own stuff. what are you guys doing? what helps?

Your on the right track, yes LCA relocation brackets will help even at stock ride height. Does your car have any body roll? With a TH350 and 4K stall I'm sure your not stock power level, what kinda power are you making at the wheels? Spinning a slick means one or more of the following: absolute crap track prep, old hard slicks, no weight transfer onto rears. A set of good shocks to transfer weight from the front, drive the rear housing into the track and keep it planted will do ALOT.

oh ya i got some body roll now that i got rid of the sway bar, but i could care less, im all about going straight. lol... ya they are kind of old hard slicks but i tried with a drag radial and i can still spin them. im making aprox 325-350 rwhp without n20. i havent had it back on the dyno ever since i got it fixed. shocks were another thought i had. what would you recommend? and hey i see your a KC guy.. same here. running at MOKAN

Ha sorry I was referring to body roll when you launch, if there's quite a bit look into an anti roll bar (ARB). Mid 300hp should be launching pretty good with a slick, are you launching on NO2? How much and what tire psi? Strange and Afco make very nice shocks and several people are happy with QA1 products as well. Single adjustable works good, double adjustable is what I recommend for full control. Not all setups need DA shocks, but that doesn't mean you won't grow into them! I've been to MoKan and actually will be there on Oct 19 for the Fall Shootout.

Ahh come find me Saturday and we can go over your setup, Tyler Wheat is comming out also. I won't be there Friday or I'd give you a hand. If you can have someone record your car launching from the back looking down the side so we can see what the front and rear are doing. Like in some of the video's of my car here:http://bdbracing.com/?page_id=296

I've been hooked on the MT 275 Pro's. But my favorite suspension part so far has been my UMI drag swaybar.

Sway bars have poly/rubber end links that are more or less suited for street use and drivers.
The umi drag bar has adjustable links with spherical rod ends on the end of the bar that attach to the body. These solid links allow for zero body roll if set up properly with a driver in the car to account for the added weight.
I wouldn't call it a sway bar cause its title itself is a drag bar but some do. Other vendors make similar anti roll bars as Josh has mentioned. It will help your cars 60 ft and will be a great addition to your car.
As much as you and a lot of others are on budgets you're going to have to break down and spend some money a few suspension parts to pit the power to the ground. I would do torque arm, lca with brackets and a drag bar. Shocks will help transfer weight but.its gonna be quite a bit more coin. Some single qa1s always pop up on ls1 tech all the time for cheap. Probably your best bet

Yup the mustang goes by mkolar314 on purposebuilt, we're building it for the 8.5 series next year. A drag sway bar or anti-roll bar keeps the body level witht he rear axle. As the rear end wants to twist out from under the car it keeps the car level on each side so the tires are planted equally. UMI and BMR both make nice pieces. I had a MWC ARB but it's design kicked me out of street classes so I now have a BMR one.

Get some comp engineering 3 way adjustable shocks for the rear, their maybe 30 bucks a pop, and really help the rear from squatting.
Sounds like you are a stockish cam wise, so why are you launching so high?

And shownomercy is right comp 3 ways aren't the best but if your on a budget there good. Only pain about them is they require bein taken off the car to be adjusted. But just set them at full.stiff and leave them.

Best bet is to bite it and spend the cash on a umi drag bar. It is money well spent. Somethings are best to get to cure problems and that by all means is one of them. Also dry tires arent helping you at all. You can expect it to 60' if you dont set the car up right. If you cant afford it, then dont expect great results.

Viking DA, but once they get popular they won't be cheap anymore.

I second the competition engineering drag shocks I have them and v6 rear spings and the car squated hard even with front way bar and qa1 coil overs for the front. That would help and lca and relocation brackets

Yup I second that. For a good adjustable shock you're going to spend a little coin, unless you pick some up used. Just make sure they don't have a million passes on them, getting them re valved will cost some $. Strange singles are 149 a piece brand new, dibt know about the qa1, my dual afcos were around 650 700 ish with 300 lb springs and torrington bearings and a wrench.

also as a budget alternative to keep the rear planted and control body roll, look into the "drag bag" setups where you put an airbag in the right rear spring. you can inflate it at the track to stiffen the right rear. this way it is adjustable, and you can deflate it again to drive home without any loss of ride quality. a good place to start otherwise would be control arm relo brackets and tubular/boxed arms. those things combined with a drag bag should get you hooking off the line at your power level

Po boy drag bag is a little football. Deflate install and inflate, wala.
Find a upgrade bigger rear sway bar used and poly mounts and links. Preload the pass. Side.
Make for sure your rear is still locking both tires.
