Hey guys just trying to get some info, I recently developed a miss fire around 3500 to 5000 or so as I run through the gears. it was almost like flipping a switch, it ran great one day and while I was driving to work and then it just started to miss. The car has a MSD Opti, coil and box, good (changed in May) NGK Iridium plugs, Good MSD wires. It starts fine and idles fine and will still pull as it misses, and no SES light.
Any ideas/thoughts would be appreciated!!

Could be fuel related or Maybe the msd got wet I have a mis kinda at low rpm just haven't had a chance to check my injectors and wiring but I did mess with my injector wires and I did notice a slight change so I would start there IMO

Car has been starting ok since I got it, drove it a few days last week, then it starts to mis, then Sunday I started it and on Tues it would not start, jumped it, drove it, used a battery charger on it over night, Wed took it to Auto Zone, they did the Battery test on it and it falied, so it must have a bad cell, although it will start daily, so I will swap out the battery and see if that cures the mis as well!!

Pulled the opti off last weekend, bearing has lots of play in it, and corrosion / pitting on the rotor and inside the cap. Maybe it was time to pull it

How old it that MSD Opti?

It looked like a MSD cap and rotor on a stock base, at least the base had the Delphi stamp on it. From the paperwork I got from my bro, who did all the work on the car, it is at least 5 years old, if not older. Got the new one on this weekend, car runs much better, and no more miss.

Yea thanks the swap was not too bad for first timer on opti, guess I am official LT guy now, lol. Also changed the seal in the front cover as well, there was no oil in the old opti but it is always a good idea to change things within reason that are hard to get to. Runs great and seems to even start a little better.
