Friend of mine picked up a Mach 1 around 6 months ago. About a month ago he went full bolt-on. Headers, full exhaust, Intake, 4.10 Gear, Pulleys, Tune. Because I went 113mph he wanted to see how bad he would pull me to get an idea of how well his car runs. His car dynoed 335whp and 346tq. Needless to say I was very surprised by the outcome of the race. The video qualitys not the best but you can get the jest. My car is the camera car.

What numbers did your car put down? I am in the same situation with a guy here in town. Same mods on his mach too, my car is just a bolt a4 haha.

very nice.. reminded me of a guy locally (back 2004ish) had just bought a new Mach1, added full bolt-ons, 4.56 gears and nitrous and called out anyone to race him from a dig...lets just say it didn't go well for the stang that night, as multiple cars took his money

Ive never had my car to the dyno. Just the track. The shop where he was tunned and dynoed is for notorious for reading low. Its a DD dyno.

That's usualy what it looks like when I race 4.6 mustangs. I have yet to try with my cam yet though, I might be brave enough to try a ls1 now! lol What cam do you have?

I figured the Mach would put up a better fight than a the everyday 4.6 2V.

Not sure on the cam. The engines untouched from the way I got it. It dies off around 6200 rpm though so Im guessing Hot cam or cc305.

If its dying off around 6200 id say its the cc306 cam rather than the cc305. The 305 cam has a peak rpm range of about 5500 and the 306 has a peak of 6500 rpm. I used to have the cc305 when I was cam only. It ran good but the guy on the dyno tuning it scattered my motor ...
This picture is some of the aftermath ... the cam was even snapped in half.

OUCH!!! That looks painful. Im with blackbird. Hopefully The tuner reimbursed you somehow.

I really dont think its a cc306. Car has tons of low end still. From what Ive read the 306 loves 6500+rpm as well.

The worse part is no he didn't reimburse me at all.. actually charged me $110 before he would let me remove my car from his shop. He said his time is worth something and charged labor. I was sick to my stomach when it let go. But yea it could be the 305 mine had a lot of bottom end torque also.

If you had a dyno and someone came in to get it tuned would you pay for there engine if it came apart? Hell no! Lol
If it came lose on the dyno to way would it have handled the street

Yea I understand that but in my defence I told him the cam on the phone and he was tuning for a different cam when I got there. Was pulling it to 6500 multiple pulls when it was stock bottom end, stock heads just cam only. I thought it was a lil over kill. on the streets I only pulled it to around 5200.. but it was a lesson learned and I got a 383 now.

Well that's a little different, but I'm sure there was some information left out or maybe he didn't know the limits of he bottom end and maybe it kept pulling hard?? I duno
