These are the 2013 Rules: LTX Street Stock
Limited to quickest 16 qualifiers, Designed to be an entry level class, LTX Street Stock will be run headsup
on a .400 pro tree utilizing a pro ladder (1 runs 16, 2 runs 15, etc.). This is a stock internals” class where
all cars will have to pass a pre-race inspection including a vacuum test. Any entry that fails inspection prior
to the race will be permitted to run in other classes at the shootout. The winner may have to submit to a
second inspection. tear down rule is in place, but will only be enforced in extreme circumstances. It is the
responsibility of the entrant to present a class legal car to tech. If you don’t see it here it probably isn’t
legal. Please ask before making modifications that are not clearly listed. All entries run at the discretion of
the technical committee.
Minimum weights include the driver. NHRA rules for ballast apply. Maximum 100 lbs removable weight
including weight box, any loose ballast will result in disqualification. L99 - minimum race weight 3200 lbs,
Automatic only.LT1–(Aluminum head) minimum race weight 3350 lbs, Manual or automatic. LT1-(Iron
head) minimum race weight 3350 automatic only, LT4 - minimum race weight 3450 lbs, Manual only.
Open to third and fourth generation GM F-Bodies and factory LTX equipped GM Y and B bodies. GM
LTX conversions will be considered on a case to case basis. All requests must be submitted in writing and
must include as much detail as possible. The body must be stock for the year and model claimed.
Aftermarket replacement body panels are limited to the hood only. No fender well or wheel tub
modifications permitted. Brakes Must be OEM complete and functional. OEM upgrades allowed (LS1, C5,
etc.). Line lock accepted on front brakes only. No aftermarket race brakes allowed. ABS may be removed.
Factory drum brakes permitted in the rear.
Interior: OEM dash required. Carpet and interior panels required forward of the package shelf. Must have
headliner, sun visors, instrument panel, vents, heater controls, etc. Radio may be replaced with a delete
plate. Two matching front seats required and must be securely bolted down. Aftermarket seats are
permitted. Rear seats may be removed. Head rests mandatory. Exterior, Windows, Wheels & Tires: All
stock glass needs to be in place. Windows must be operative, but closed during competition. No lexan, etc.
allowed. Bumper supports and energy absorbing materials may be removed, but this practice is not
recommended. All mirrors for body style claimed must be present.
Wheels and tires: Any automotive wheels permitted: Minimum diameter 14 inches. Any DOT legal rear
tire allowed that fits within the stock un-altered wheel opening, may not stick out past the fender. No slicks.
Front tires must have a minimum tread width of 4.5 inches,
Electrical: HVAC must be equipped with a fully operational Opti-Spark distributor. Stock style aftermarket
replacements allowed (MSD, Accell, etc.). Aftermarket ignition box allowed. Two-steps not permitted.
Heat and air conditioning may be removed. All holes must be properly covered. OEM alternator must be in
place and functional at all times. No loose belt, etc. No mini alternators allowed. Battery must be of
sufficient capacity to start the car at all times. Rear mounted batteries need to be mounted and vented per
NHRA regulations, including a functional disconnect switch.
Drive Train: Steel or aluminum drive shaft only. Drive shaft safety loop required on all entries. Any
automotive rear axle allowed. Aftermarket axles and C-clip eliminators required in any replacement
housing. Automatic Transmission: 4L60E or 700R4 only. Modifications limited to shift kit, pan, and cooler.
Any stall converter. No Trans brakes allowed. Manual Transmission: T-56 only.
Engine: Stock LT1, LT4, or L99 only: Modifications limited to roller rockers and any stock diameter valve
spring. Guide plates allowed with non-self-aligning rockers. Stock rebuilds permitted, but must retain stock
bore and stroke. Minimum deck height is .015 inch. Stock head gaskets required for the engine claimed.
OEM hydraulic lifters required. Modified or “limited travel” lifters not allowed. All internals including, but
not limited to pistons, rods, crank, valves, cam, heads, block, etc. must be correct for engine claimed.
Cylinder head modifications limited to a stock valve job. Heads must hold NHRA published volumes. In
addition, any replaced head gaskets or other engine work must be reported on the tech sheet. Failure to do
so could result in disqualification from the event. The LT4 is restricted to stock rockers and springs. Stock
un-ported manifold required. Manifold may be modified at the front openings for larger than stock throttle
body. Edelbrock LT1 specific intake may be used. Full size stock radiator mandatory for body type used.
OEM replacements may be aluminum. Minimum one quart overflow required. Air cleaner is optional.
Direct replacement electric water pump allowed.
Exhaust System: may be replaced with tubular headers. Mufflers are required. A Stock manifolds single
cut-out is allowed in vehicles equipped with a factory style exhaust with the muffler behind the rear axle.
True duals permitted, but must run through mufflers at all times. All exhausts must exit behind the front
seats.
Suspension & Chassis Front Suspension: Direct replacement aftermarket A-arms permitted. Stock type drag
shocks allowed must be in stock location. Sway bar may be removed.
Rear Suspension: Rear Bolt-in aftermarket components allowed. Stock style replacement sway bar allowed.
No wheelie bars or coil over shocks allowed. Aftermarket torque arms permitted. Front mount of torque
arm may be relocated. NHRA legal bolt-in traction bars allowed (Pete-Z, etc.).
Chassis: Tubular bolt-in replacement K-member permitted. Sub frame connectors permitted. Roll bars are
optional. Steering: OEM steering required. Power steering pump may be removed or bypassed.
Fuel System: Gasoline only (no race fuel). E85 not permitted. Stock GM computer required. Any size
injector allowed. Any size throttle body allowed. All entries must have the stock gas tank. Fuel pump
upgrades allowed. Adjustable fuel regulators allowed (Must be mounted per NHRA regulations)
Power Adders: No nitrous or other power-adder equipment will be allowed on the vehicle.
Safety: SN 90 or newer helmet required. Protective clothing recommended. Long pants and closed shoes
mandatory for all drivers. In addition to the class requirements all entries must meet track/NHRA
requirements for the ET run. The removal of OEM safety equipment is not recommended. Seat belts
required and may be upgraded. If the entry has a roll bar a dated aftermarket harness installed per NHRA
regulations is required.
Street Equipment Required: All entries must have functional lights, horn, turn signals, and wipers
minimum. Cruise, fog lights, radio, etc. may be removed. Car and driver must meet NHRA certifications
for the time the car is running.
