Hey guys i just ordered a set of 2 18x9.5's for the front and 2 18x10.5's for the rear and I don't really know what tires to go with for size and quality so any help is much appreciated, and yes i did search here first but didn't really find any direct answers.

I'd go with 265/35/18 F, 295/35/18 R. I'm a BFG guy personally. But there are many good options out there. I really only know BFG (and Nitto DR's). The Nitto's are a good compromise for longevity and stickiness though I hate that they seem to run narrow. I'm pretty sure this is the case for all Nitto's.

would 275/40/18's work good up front with out rubbing and 305/35/18's in the rear because i want to keep them close to the same diameter as the stockers so my spedo isn't way off

I don't see why those sizes would not work but I believe your tire mfg. choices will be limited.

If you run the ones he posted, your speedo error will be minimal. If you do a search I posted some numbers for a 17 front 18 rear combo for someone where i calculated the diameter/speedo error for 295/35/18's

Now, :stupid:. When I got my tires the reason I went with the 295/35/18's were to keep the speedo as close as possible.

295's won't look small for you. In fact the 305's are only 10mm wider (supposedly) and that all depends on the mfg. You look at a 305 Nitto vs. a 295 BFG and you will swear the BFG has a wider section width.

Here is a shot of my car from a back angle so you can see a 295 on a 10.5" rim. At least give you an idea...

My 265 18's don't rub at all, but neither do my 275 17's on the other car. So if that helps.

Personally, I like keeping the aspect ratio the same on my fronts and rears. I think if you get the 275/40 you will be disappointed about the sidewall height on the fronts.

You probably know this but the aspect ratio is a percentage of the section width of a tire. So a 295/35/18 would have a sidewall height of 51.63mm, a 265/35/18 would be 46.38mm, and 275/40/18 would be 55mm. The sidewall height of the 275/40 would be larger than the 295/35.

i sent AZ2ENVY a pm about his tires and he said he's runnin 275/40/18's up front and 305/35/18's out back and i think his car looks pretty good, cuz he's where i got the idea to go 18's instead of 17's lol

His car does look good but he is running the Nitto tires which like I said run smaller than other tire manufacturers. Search LS1Tech for Nitto tires and almost always you will read they run narrow. I absolutely hate how narrow my 275/40/17 Nitto DR's look compared to how much wider my 275/40/17 BFG's look on the front of my 95.

If you go with Nitto then those are a good size to go with. BFG, Kumho, Michelin, you may experience rubbing issues or the need to use the BFH mod.

I am running 18x9 in the front with 275s and 18x10.5 in the rear with 295s. It took a little modifying in the rear though.

how would 265/40/18's F and 295/40/18's (if they even make 295/40's) R look because i don't want it to look like its got thin tires, i kinda like havein a little bit of sidewall on them......

so i just got my tires ordered and went with 295/35/18's R and 265/35/18 18's F BFG KDW's because i guess they dont make 305/35/18 in the nitto 555r's anymore according to my tire guy so hopefully they'll look alright!!
